Very well, and I get what you are aiming at. There is no need to make a big deal of this. As I said, there is of course the chance this is true, I just haven't really made a choice on what to think, nor will I until I get some proof. On second thought, I realized I doubt N_A just a bit too much, so it's back to "neutral". Let's just let it go, okay? Why are you so bent on convinving me of this? I'm not out to convince you it's FALSE, just that there is good reason to suspect it of being such.
Good reason? I sure don't see any...
Well... its not a matter of undeniable proof. Vicarious proof and reasonable explanations based on some kind of reliable presentation is usually trustworthy. For example, you don't need to go to Iraq to believe there is a war going on. Of course, as David Letterman once said, the last time the French wanted absolute proof in the manner that DJ wants absurd absolute proof, they got their proof in the form of German tanks rolling through Paris.

As ABF said, if there was a translation group, there would be credits for it. The credits of the game however mention Nintendo staff doing the translation. Its unreasonable to expect that someone would translate the Japanese ROM and then give Nintedo credit for something they didn't do. Its also unreasonable for the head of the Starmen.net, then Earthbound.net to run a whole contribution campaign to have the game dumped, and then translate it clandistinely so as to make $400 (he probably could saved more money by not wasting the time and bandwidth).

Also, the provider of the ROM I remember back then provided digital photos of the cart that he obtained. It was checked in Starmen.net, then Earthbound.net and among members of Zophar's Domain to be unadulterated digital photos and screen caps. I myself verified it too doing some checking through Adobe Photoshop.

Sure someone could have set up an elaborate scheme to make it LOOK like Nintendo translated the ROM of EB0, that there was actually translation patch that was secretly done just to make some $400, but don't you find it unlikely ?

And besides, a remake of Earthbound 0 doesn't mean that its going to represent the original cart. Because they canned the publishing of the project, and they lost the only cart they had, they probably are going to go back to the drawing board with the original Japanese ROM, give it new graphics, new translation, and graphics.

Of course, if I did find out later down the line that it was some elaborate scheme to scam the community for a money, I would be pissed...
Well there ya go. You see, stuff like the credits mentioning people working at Nintendo and such is what I call evidence that makes the story more believable. You really should have said that in the first place. And really, it's not so major a deal to ask for a little proove of some claims. The fact is, you never gave any proof whatsoever to start with, so I just asked for some. Compairing this to something that actually matters is just silly talk of course. What does something actually important like World War 2 have to do with this? The difference is they actually had some evidence, whereas none was provided here (oh, and the fact that this is a minor issue). Now then, I don't think I'll ask for proof that the names in the credits actually were there, I'll just go ahead and believe ya. Now from now on, there's no need to develop an attitude. Simply provide such proof as this and the situation is resolved peacefully.

Really, why did I get targetted here? What exactly was it that I did SO wrong as to garner anger? It's very reasonable to ask for proove of anything sounding like an urban legend. What's not reasonable was what you expected me to do, which was take it at face value with no proof whatsoever.
Well I think if you'd played (or just watched the beginning of) the rom this would not have been an issue... or if you knew how translation groups work -- I mean, its a lot of work! No one would want to do it for no credit! -- this wouldn't have come up... and you asked for more proof than people really need to believe something. No, its not unreasonable to think you were stubbornly refusing to believe that Nintendo would fully translate a game then decide that Americans don't buy RPGs... especially since they did that all the time...
What's the deal here? It's over already okay?
Heh... me having to tell you proof about the inner workings of the game such as the credits ? You might as well have Dloaded the ROM yourself and taken alook at the opening credits and figured exactly the same thing I told you... so downloading the ROM is convient way for me to prove rather than having to tell you the details, and you would get more details than what I told you. Oh well... useless talking here...
DJ is against roms. Even ones that were never released in the US.
Roms ? Well no one really expected this, but doesn't matter now, I'm definitely getting EB0, 1, and 2.

Quote:June 02, 2003 - Mother 1&2, the upcoming Game Boy Advance conversion of the NES RPG Mother and the SNES RPG Mother 2 (also known as Earthbound in the US) is currently not slated for a US release anytime soon.

All right, all right...throw a chair or punch the wall, get it out of your system.

The game's set to be released in Japan on June 20th, and Nitnendo has updated its website with a ton of new screenshots of each game running on the Game Boy Advance. Don't expect any huge leap in looks or sounds, since these games are simple ports from their classic counterparts. No updated graphics or gameplay.

Nintendo's releasing this pack to get players all riled up for Mother 3, which should be hitting the Game Boy Advance either late this year or sometime in 2004. Again, no announcement regarding a possible US release of the sequel.

Have a look at the new screens of Mother 1&2 by hitting the media link below...and check out what you'll be missing.

Remember, don't shoot the messenger... :)
Oh I really, really fucking love Nintendo!!!!

:cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:
Yeah, they have a just brilliant sense of what won't sell here, that's for sure.
It's just currently not SLATED, that's all. There are a number of games that were released here not too long after the Japanese version comes out (well, if you consider a year not that long :D) even though it's not slated for release as far as we know. Then again... Oh well, I'll be optimistic! Hasn't failed me yet, except for those countless times it has, but I'm content as opposed to outraged during all that time so it's not all that bad.
Hmm...it makes no sense to me why they wouldn't release it over here.
Because it's no fucking Hamtaro, that's for sure!! Eh? Am I right? Eh??!!!
Yes, you are. I mean... its not like anyone on this continent would ever buy Earthbound!
No siree! You know how much people hate those GBA RPGs!
Yeah! Its so obvious that that's true with how few the system has...
Yeah! It's not like Nintendo has some huge RPG franchise that sells worldwide on GB or anything.

*sarcasm detector... IMplodes*

DLN, getting there, but I need another one!
