I disappointed with casino Royale, Besides one of the chase scenes in the beginning of the film , I think the rest of the movie stank and Daniel Craig is totally emo.

Quantum of solace sounds like something Scott Bakula should be in.

Pierce Brosman < Daniel Craig
It jumped the shark with Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig brought it back to life.
I'm not sure what the last James Bond movie I saw was... I've never really been a fan of the series. I've only really seen all of a couple of Bond movies... Goldeneye (I saw it sometime after I played the N64 game in like 2000 or something)... um, some I saw parts of on TV... Tomorrow Never Dies, maybe? Haven't seen the most recent two, anyway.

Brosmans last movie still broke records and made money,I'll probaily just rent QOS when it is released to dvd.
Casino Royale made way more money than Die Another Day.

For me it would have been more interesting had they made it a period piece and Gone back to the timeline the book is in.

If they were going to rewrite it into a present day story they should have changed all the actors not just Bond,Judi Dench still playing "M" is confusing if its supposed to be a reset.

The new bond is too dry and serious , You need some witty humor like Roger Moore's Bond lines.
Isn't that the series about crotch lasers and evil geniuses threatening to melt the planet unless they get gold? Hasn't bond like literally jumped over a shark at some point?

I'm pretty sure the series was over the top from it's very conception.
It's gone back and forth between serious and ridiculous several times.
Bond gets gadgets. Crazy chase scene, then killing a spy, then loving a woman "for many hours", then she's actually evil, then he finds the secret plans of some evil guy, then he gets into a trap, gets out of the trap, and saves the day, and then after running out of some exploding base, there's some recap and a final attempt on his life by some low-life.

Austin Powers made fun of it and pointed all this out, therefore no one is allowed to enjoy the movies. That's how it works!

There should be another Austin Powers movie, Austinpussy.
I've always liked the Bond movies. They all have different styles but they all follow the same basic formula. It's interesting to see different directors take on the series and sometimes it works, a lot of times it doesn't. I thought Goldeneye was a great movie, but the Brosnan Bonds sucked after it. I did enjoy the serious approach Casino Royale took. I also like the fact that they seem to be leading towards a common villian in the Bond movies again ala Blofeld from the Connery days. Blofeld did get old after a while, but it was fun having a main protagonist along with the "minor" villians. You have to willingly suspend a lot of disbelief watching the Bond films and you can't really go in expecting Shindler's List, but I always love a well-made action flick and the good Bond films are some of the best action films there are.
