They are if they don't give us Sin & Punishment for the Wii VC, given that Europe is about to get it.

... seriously, we need import titles. There are plenty that either have no Japanese in them or are totally intelligible... I don't expect them to translate RPGs or something, but release this one? There's no excuse not to... For another example, for instance, Final Soldier doesn't exactly have any Japanese in it. Why skip over it for US TG16 VC release just because it wasn't released in the US while the other two on the system were?

... so pessimism says that they might not, just to make their fans unhappy? Let's hope that doesn't happen...
Thankfully I already have it for the N64.
And if I had it for N64 too I might not be complaining, but it's not exactly cheap...
Sin and Punishment on the VC today at Noon.
Awesome news! I was wondering... did they do something about the Japanese menus? (probably not, though a translation guide would be good enough)

Shmups and 3d auto-scrolling shooters like this one are clearly among the easiest games to release here given that so many of them don't have much or any Japanese in them. There aren't many more N64 games worth bringing over (and none I can think of that they could release here without translation), but on the older consoles... yes. Anyway though, this is awesome news. Sin & Punishment is definitely one of the N64's best shooting games... not quite as good as Star Fox 64 perhaps, but close.
Why would they not translate the menus? That doesn't even make any sense, Brian.

And, yes, all the menus are properly translated.
And it starts. Let's hope this continues on the uptrend with more stuff.
Mario Lost Levels [aka Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2] also was released today.

Because that would require actually editing the rom, which I wasn't sure if they'd bother to do. Have they done that with any other games? (Did they remove the player names from Tecmo Bowl or something? I don't remember...)

Oh yes... in Europe this is a timed release, right? Or one of them is, anyway... Is the American one the same? I'd think not, but don't know.
The Europe release is timed, but so far there's no indication that the same goes for America.
I think that only Mario was timed in Europe, not Sin & Punishment, for some reason, but either way, that's great.

Oh yes... Turbo-CD games are coming soon, with Gate of Thunder and Air Zonk as the first two titles. Gate of Thunder is amazing and has a really awesome intro...

And this week, it's more import stuff... Ninja JaJaMaru-kun, previously released in the Europe VC but only released in Japan for the NES, and a semi-import title, Golden Axe III for the Genesis, which did show up in the PS2 Sega Genesis Collection title, but wasn't released in the US on the Genesis. Of course, the game never had any Japanese in it to begin with, so it wasn't exactly a hard one to decide to bring over... not sure about the NES game.
Apparently Treasure is interested in doing a sequel to Sin and Punishment on the Wii.
That would be awesome, the Wiimote seems like it'd be a fantastic controller for a game like that...
