Full Version: Bush and Cheney should have been impeached years ago

They've done a hundred times more illegal and immoral stuff than any "high crimes and misdemeanors" charge could ever account for, so why is it that almost all of the Democrats in Congress refuse to even consider it? Sure it wouldn't pass, but it doesn't need to PASS (though it would be amazingly great if it could, that'd never happen), it just needs to get out there and make a statement...

It just never stops. Every time you think you've heard the new most outrageous thing that the administration has done, they go and do another one... it gets pretty depressing if you think about it for long... and as someone highly interested in politics, I can't help but to do that. :(
Are you drinking again?

'Cause I picture you with a bottle of Jack and poignant tears running down your stubbled cheek.
Meh, this is nothing I don't say at least some of here at home on a near-daily basis. We all agree on pretty much all of these points after all. :)

Illegal wiretapping, domestic spying, Libby's get-out-of-jail-free card, rigging elections (in 2000 for sure at least), ignoring whole regions of the world because "I don't like anyone there" and looking at the catastrophic results (North Korea, Lebanon, Israel/Palestine, etc -- what do you think happens when you ignore a region for six and a half years? Things get worse!), the moronic elections-first policy that got us Hamas in Gaza and wholly partisan enemies in Iraq, the 80% right-wing supreme court (that just handed down a full slate of horribly wrong decisions -- see what you get for letting in Roberts and Alito because they can talk nice?), secret CIA prisons, mass-scale outsourcing of jobs from every level of government to for-profit contractors who massively rip off the government, get their workers killed for profit, and don't get punished for it because Halliburton's (supposedly ex-)CEO runs the country, killing tens of thousands of innocent civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan for a so-called "war on terror" which is nothing of the sort (yes, the Afghanistan invasion was justified. That doesn't make bombing civilian homes (when terrorists hide in them) and killing dozens of innocents on a regular basis justified by any stretch of the imagination!), etc, etc, etc... the list is near-infinite...
How do you have "near infinite"?

Anyway, I'll just give my opinion on the current state of political whatsits and how people are currently running for office.

They have been pretty bad, but at this stage in the game it would be pointless to impeach anybody. The Clinton impeachment was a horrible ploy by the Republicans and for the Dems to impeach Bush at this point would be almost as bad.

This explains a lot...
I would like Bush to be impeached as a show of good faith, but we know it won't happen and that he doesn't have much time left. 'Looks like we'll just be holding onto our butts with this shameful administration for another 17 months.

Edit: Cheney as a straw man? Doubt it.
