is anybody here a beta tester?

I would like to hear your opinion if so.
I am, and it sucks ass.
Beta are usally Imbalanced , Ive heard how bad the BM(blood mage) was raped to death due to newbie whining.

I am bigger on Single player then multiplayer.

can you give me more a detailed reason for why Its sucks ass?
Because ABF likes it.

:p
god has spoken!!!
Actually I lied. I'm not a tester.
You must be incredibly bored to do somthing so foolish.Rolleyes
Bingo, baby cakes.
In reality I was wondering if you knew someone willing to let me burrow a cdkey to post in the Beta forum on battle.net
I wish I was a beta tester... :(
I could have applied , but I didnt want to spoil the game before I bought it.
They just opened the beta to a third round of testers... 10,000 more... and for the third time I didn't get in. :(
Likely all 10000 places were taken up before they even opened it, those being filled with the overflow from the last time they opened up beta testing to the public.

Frozen Throne seems to be a lovely expansion that really does expand, and the new units and such actually have a great affect on gameplay it seems.
The entire game has been reworked so it does play alot differnetly then classic mode,TFT will be probaily the most drastic expansion ever made by blizzard.

They even introduced some amphebious units like the Naga sea witch and the sea turtles. They also added Naval transports so we will see a little bit of warcraft II strats making there way back into the game.
No, DJ, you don't understand... there was just one Beta signup several weeks ago. The second and third rounds of beta openings go to more people from that signup... they got a huge number of entries and can only give betas to a fraction of them even with two rounds of 10,000 new openings.

There will still not be any naval battles. Not being a beta tester, I can't comment with any degree of finality, but it would seem to me, that Naval Transports won't change the strategy too much. Instead of "hiding" over a forest of trees, they'll go out to sea to escape attackers. However, air units will still be able to attack both with impunity.
It is true though that the game has had MAJOR changes in TFT though... too many to list here and they aren't done yet... its looking great, but it'll dramatically change the game in so many ways it'll take a while to get used to...
Here're the major changes from the just-released TFT Beta 1.05.

Quote: * Heroes no longer gain experience from creeping once they're over level 5.
* No Upkeep is now from 0-50 food, Low Upkeep is now from 51-80 food, and
* High Upkeep is now from 81-100 food. This change was made to compensate for the need to have large amounts of lumber-gathering peons.
* Units can never move at a speed slower than 150 (roughly 60% the speed of a Footman).

They've done all kinds of other things in previous changes too -- heroes now get xp for any kills -- whether they are within a screen or not. If units with no hero nearby kill enemies its divided up among the remaining heroes... the list goes on and on and on and on and is just going to get longer and longer... man, I can't wait...
The hope was to lower the amount of necessary creeping and focus back on the action. You creep to start off so you can clear for an expo or acquire a few items then you go and fight just like you would in any other RTS.

While right now in classic you can creep up to 20 mintues before you get into a fire fight.
Hopefully the changes in frozen throne won't affect reign of chaos. I'd like that to remain as is in case someone wants to go back in time for a while.
I'm sure that once TFT comes out the final changes (ie what they end up with after they go through the beta process and test out the result of all these changes) the applicable ones will be added to standard WC3... not that anyone would care. I mean, why would anyone play standard when there's the expansion? I know that once the SC expansion came out I never played standard B.Net SC again... it just wasn't as good anymore...
upkeep been pushed up to 50 instead of 40.Allows an extra Expo.

Food cap may also recieve a push soon too.
Yeah, Low upkeep now is 50-80 and High is 80-100, I think... I don't know. I think they should have left it alone... I liked it the way it was...
So the FULL maximum is now 100? I think maybe the high upkeep might only still go to 90, so in other words it only applies to about a ten unit of food difference now. To be honest, I agree with ABF. I liked it before. The better solution might have been to make peasents and peons only take up half a unit of food. That way this fix to allow for more harvesting as they say wouldn't have such major ramifications across the board. Sure, the food cap reduces the infamous battles from previuos games to skirmishes of two small gangs of people meeting each other, but I loved those skirmishes!
