Ah funny dancing Mega Man. The song is neat, though it tapers off pretty badly at the end. Still think that other mega video with the other song was funnier...

... it's probably funnier if you know the reference (what the song is), but if you do it's pretty awesome, I thought... :)
The only difference betweent the first and second of those is the end, where Megaman is killed by that extra life. IRONY! Also, reference? Besides Mega Man? That might explain the school room...

I had no idea there were more of these weird things.

Eventually Ice Man needs to fight the Ice Climbers.
It's a Megaman version of the ending song to one of the most popular animes of last year (if you follow animes currently out in Japan, that is, and not just stuff available here), The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

There are a bunch of versions of the song, but this is the one the Megaman videos are parodying: (can't find a copy with subtitles offhand, unfortunately...)

interesting comparison of the two

That anime doesn't even have one fighting robot!
*massive confusion :(
--So mega man was really cast from the roll of some hot asian chick dancing for my entertainment...
Old, but good.

That... Was... Freakin... Awesome!

It does too. It just looks like a human. :)

... it's a very funny show...

Mega Man is the main character of that series, Haruhi is the main character of the show... though there are some differences, the show isn't actually from her point of view like how you play as Mega Man, but whatever. Close enough.

I think the best part about it though is the vaguely 8-bit-seeming version of the song... :) ... as well as how they're trying to get those 8-bit characters try to copy that dance... :D

I know I've seen that one before... it is good, isn't it.
Vaguelly 8 bit? It's EXACTLY the instruments of the NES!

If that weird opening is anything to go by, it seems boring, like those "teen nick" shows or pretty much any sitcom on the Disney channel.
No, that's the ending, not the opening... and you're wrong. It's a great show. (besides, don't judge it without having seen it...)

The anime fan audience isn't exactly the TeenNick audience and the show is very popular. That should say something... though yes, it is a comedy, it's actually funny...

(I'll bet a lot of anime fans would have been a lot more annoyed by that statement than I was, DJ, but still, it was kind of foolish... :))

The series is coming out on DVD sometime soon in the US. Or you can watch it low quality on Youtube, though of course that's of iffy legality.
Wow Japanese endings just sorta drag ooooon don't they? Opening and ending stuff, as Strong Bad has said, are basically an excuse to cut an already shortened for commercials show into even less show, and they are basically a commercial for something you are ALREADY WATCHING. The one thing they forgot to do was squeeze all that to the left or top and mute it while playing a commercial for the very next show.

My judgement was more of a "first impression". Not like I am saying I "know" it's like that, it's just what I see.

The dancing is weird though...
Anime shows nearly always have a vocal song for the intro and another one for the end credits, yes... and you're right, it does allow them to cut back on the actual content. But (if you actually watch them each time) the intro and ending become part of the character of the show, I've found... I always watch them. Some people skip them after watching them once or twice in a series, but I don't.

Quote:My judgement was more of a "first impression". Not like I am saying I "know" it's like that, it's just what I see.

That song and dance thing is supposed to be 'kind of strange and amusing', I'd say. And I'd say that it succeeds. :)

... though the subtitled versions, with the English words for the kind of silly song, are better.

It's an intentionally weird show. They aired the episodes "out of order" -- the episode order on the DVDs (the 'proper order') isn't the airing order. Watching them in the airing order makes it more suspenseful, but things don't happen in order (though it's not an overly continuity-based series, so that's not a huge issue)... Watching in the airing order is funny because episode 1 is really, really weird... it's a video that the characters made, and it's really horrible (in a good way)... :) Funny stuff. :) Only 14 episodes, though with its popularity, there are definitely rumors that there'll be a followup.
The question is, what's the video I posted from, if it is indeed from anything?
First, I think I expanded my last post after making it... did you see it all? About your "first impression" and how I disagree. :)

As for your question, it's an 8-bit Megaman version of the opening to a show called "Lucky Star" evidently. It says so in the comments, you know... :) (no, I've never heard of this series before)

It's ... kind of hyper. :D

Ah, I see, it's a new series... doesn't look overly thrilling based on the intro, but who knows. Anyway, here's a comparison video.

... on second thought, that song is kind of addictive after you watch the intro several times...
BEAT THE IMAGES OUT OF MY MIND! It's HORRIBLE! And this is coming from someone who watched that cute dog video 10 or so times in a row!

By the way, considering that the comments on youtube are the "gutter" of online intellect, and further that I didn't even really know how to get to that thing's youtube page (I snatched the code from some other website that embedded it), well yeah.

Oh dear... I just remembered something that gives me terrible images of what they might do... Remember that Powerpuff Girls anime they were going to make some time ago? I think I posted some ad for it here. I fear the opening and ending credits for that thing...

Ya know one thing I'm glad about is you people finally got over that hangup about embedding flash files into posts. :D I like to think I played my part in helping you over that hurdle.

You left-click on the video (somewhere outside of the "start" arrow, or while the video is running).

That ones music is kind of calm, though. This is hyper-fast... true about the 'cute' aspect, though. :)

... you know, if you'd asked me in summer 2002 if I'd listen to music like that song (or, perhaps more properly, the Haruhi ending theme; this Lucky Star one I hadn't heard before today outside of the Megaman version), if I bet things I'd bet just about anything that I'd have said "no way" ...

... and then I started watching anime. :D

Not every anime has an opening like that, though... I don't know about the Powerpuff Girls anime; never saw it.

They provide you with an "embed" link on the video page... why not use what they give you?
On a completely different note, yet at least as awesome... 25 minutes of Mega Man V for the GB.

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/yV5wNqzKsWw"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/yV5wNqzKsWw" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Ah nuts, that person didn't play it on a Super Gameboy. Oh well, the game is just as good either way, but the graphics are nicer in color of course.
I like the look of the original Game Boy though... but yeah, SGB backgrounds are cool for the games that have them.
I'm not talking about the backgrounds. I'm talking about the custom color scheme that is built into MMV. It's one of the SGB supporting games. Every level has it's own colors. This isn't about playing it as it "originally" looked because it had that support from the start.

Anyway, MMV had some of the best music in the series, in full rich GB audio. The ending music for the very last part is concentrated SADNESS.

I know, and I was saying that I think the original GB games look pretty good in black and white... for instance, I prefer the GB version of LA to the GBC one...
Okay, but this is how the game was designed to be played. The first four Megaman games don't have any SGB support outside the built in color pallettes the SGB might have if it recognizes those games. It wasn't added later to MMV, it was always there.

Anyway, I prefer the color mode. Sure SGB had it's limitations compared to, say, the GBC but it did a pretty good job as that video indicates.
I still confused? Why are those hot Asians dancing in that Aime sink up to mega man?
What's the fascination with making mega man dance to that show?
Why not, etoven? Why not? 8-bit style music is cool, Mega Man is great... if you can make an 8-bit version of the songs, why not? And as for Mega Man, well, who should it be?
A Black Falcon Wrote:Why not, etoven? who should it be?
The claw from inspector gadget, now that would be sweet. :)
Heh... I loved Inspector Gadget. However, you only ever see Claw from the back, sitting in a chair! How could he dance seated with just an arm visible? :)

And no, making the cat do it wouldn't count. :)
Wasn't there a horrible Inspector Gadget movie where you actually see Claw? I never saw it because as soon as I heard that they made no effort to hide Claw's appearance I knew it would be bad.
I saw it, and yes it was bad, and Claw looked nothing like I had always imagined.

That is, I thought Claw was a sentient bomb chained to a mechanical arm, or sometimes a hideous large bull dog monster man.
I heard the movie was terrible too, so I didn't see it. If it ruins the spirit of the show as badly as I heard it did, it wouldn't really be worth watching...
