I made a new version I like better, above...
It looks pretty good, but you should probably create an opening that doesn't use copyrighted material...

There's nothing copyrighted about it, the animation, and sound authoring were all my original work.
"THX"

and

"The audience is listening"

are both copyrighted.

I'll buy the audience is listening part, but...

I told this to Ryan, there's no way in hell that I'm going to license their encoding schema and then have to pay them to say I used it at the same time.

That's just border line pissing me off, is what that is.
My films are encoded in THX, I have the right to say so. I certainly can't call it something else, people won't know what the hell I'm talking about.
Ah, if you're paying to license their encoding then it's probably okay.
Still, instead of using their actual logo, I think it's best if you simply have the message "encoded in THX" in plain font.
I think it's funny how toven can properly spell words like 'schema' and 'authoring' correctly, and then you give us the word 'pritty'.

It's like two sides of the same strange coin.
Just to make it clear, I agree that you shouldn't have to pay to mention what encoder you are using, but did your liscense allow you to use the logo?

Weltall, yes, the spelling this guy comes up with...

Speaking of, maybe a built in spell checker would be ideal for the board.
Firefox has a built in spell checker. If everyone used Firefox everyone would have perfect spelling. ;)
I use the spell checker on the Google toolbar.

What logo are you referring to?? The whole video was authored by myself, design and all. I don't think the letters T H and X side by side constitutes a copyrighted logo.

If it did "BOB" or "TOM" would be out on the street picking up scraps from all the royalities they would have to pay. :)
I'm talking about the THX as it looks in your video, very logo-y. I'm saying that generally the way someone would refer to that is, if they can't use the actual logo, they will say "Encoded in the THX ™ system" or something like that, and not have the letters spinning around with lines on the top and bottom in 3D.

Now you need to make a movie to append to that glorious intro. No point in designing a book cover if there are no pages to contain.
