I made this video to illustrate (AND TO FLEX MY ANIMATION MUSSLE):
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1iLVxNxFpSs"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1iLVxNxFpSs" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Why is that tree rocking back and forth without a single leaf shaking? Is there some guy pushing on the thing just out of scene?

It's raining, wind, I didn't feel like animating every single leaf......
Don't judge ME!!
I just wouldn't expect the tree itself to be a rigid pole swinging on a hinge like a reverse pendulum at the base. I'd expect it to sort of bent one way in a curved fasion and then swinge back a little before the wind forces it back again, in a sort of repeated bounce that never really swings back the other way due to the wind, like I see in real life.
But animation aside, that's still a nice looking scene.

The tree itself is actually composed of 2 movable limbs although I agree it's not totally noticeable.
I am glad you think although the astectics of the scene hit the mark, rain, atmosphere, ext.
Thanks
Looks good... rain without many clouds in the sky is funny, though. :)
