I've been out of the console market for some time now, so I would like to know if there are any more really good GC games coming out that I should be interested in, or has that ship already sank?

Best respects,

BARRY
Uh, perhaps you've heard of a game called THE LEGEND OF ZELDA - TWILIGHT PRINCESS???

Fire Emblem was good. I'm sure you've played Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and Resident Evil 4, both exceptional titles.

Short of that though...save for a Wii.
With TP coming out in a EVERY SINGLE WAY BETTER version on the Wii, I couldn't justify suggesting the Gamecube version. There's good reason to expect to even be able to use a classic controller style (as they would have no reason to dummy that out of the Wii version) if that's an issue.

And from what I've read, he has played RE4.
Super Paper Mario, if it comes out? Maybe Baten Kaitos 2, if you liked the first one... but yeah, not a lot.
Why would you think Super Paper Mario won't come out? They just announced an October release date for it.

From what I've heard it seems the addition of Wii compatibility was somewhat tacked on, and not that great. Considering this game has been designed around a GameCube controller for the last billion years that it's been in development, I feel that it would work better.

You know, just my two cents.
I agree actually. While they had the Wii version set up with the remote controller at E3, I really doubt that the Wii version will lack Gamecube controller support. If it comes out and I'm wrong, I'll need to reevaluate exactly which version I want :D.

But, "thy graphics" are better on the GCN version and there's extra gameplay. EXTRA GAMEPLAYS! Assuming they don't take anything OUT of the Wii version, that's the one to get. More is always better, ALWAYS.
Wii version is in widescreen too. And not fake widescreen like in RE4, it's true 16:9.

Remember Kirby GC, quietly announced for GC last E3 like Super Paper Mario and DK Bongo Blast were this time? Note how it never showed up again? That's why...

But yes, the actual announcing of a release date -- and Oct. 9 too, sooner than I would have expected -- is certainly a good sign.

You know that you'll end up buying both versions... :D

Gamecube release in 2006, so says GAF.

Not out of the question for me either! I bought and finished San Andreas on the PS2, and went and bought it again on the X-Box, for little reason other than custom soundtracks. Plus, I wanted to play that awesome game one more time through anyhow.

Besides, we don't know if Darunia will even be in the market for a Wii, as he says his interest is waning. The GameCube one might be what he is interested in.

I'll believe Nintendo over GAF and take it as highly significant that they haven't said a word about the game in over a year... that it did not show up on the E3 media page... that it was not included in the E3 release list... no, I don't think it's coming back.
Aside from Kirby, Super Paper Mario and DK Bongo Blast, there's also Super Monkey Ball Adventure which, if as addictive as the other two monkeyball games, is going to be awesome.

But I wonder if darunia has played Battalion Wars, chibi-Robo or Jungle Beat which are all AAA games.

They got that list from Nintendo's financial report, Brian.
I saw that screenshot and it seemed pretty tentative... half of the games are labelled as (temporary name) without their subtitles when those titles have been announced... Kirby GC isn't being talked about anywhere else by Nintendo... etc... I'll believe it when I see it, but when we saw the new Kirby DS game and it was a classic side-scroller, I kind of assumed that that game was Kirby GC's replacement.
It's planned, but it's going to be very subdued.

Sadly, this is Game Cube's last year. That means cheap GC games that i can catch up on! :D
Maybe, but remember backwards compatibility. It could go ONE more year perhaps riding with a few people making games for "the poor people" and Wii owners still being fully able to play them too.

It happened with the various GB itterations as well as the PS2 anyway. And, it's still happening with the XBox.
When does TP come out.
I've HEARD that it'll be coming out at the same time the Wii launches, which I THINK is this fall.
November, probably.
DJ/ Maybe some third party stuff, but Nintendo is notorious for dropping support when new hardware is on the horizon. I think this Christmas GC will get a price drop, pack in, and a handful of new games. Hopefully that will clear out store stock, but then the prices just keep getting slashed until its gone.
No, GB, GBA,NES, and SNES all got years of support after they were "replaced"... the GBC and N64 were only dropped because they didn't last as supportable platforms in the market. (Virtual Boy of course was never an independent product line really) Gamecube is going the way of the N64 of course, and GBA is finally fading, but it's had a good year and a half since the release of the DS and there are still a decent number more good games (mostly third party games, but great games) to come...
Ah. N64. I miss her.
The N64 was underrated. *smashes Carlos Mencia with a large hammer, just as he did to a perfectly good N64 on his crappy comedy show*
I saw that sketch. He had a point. It's just a gaming console and FOOD is what starving people need.

Well said. Many of my favorite games are on N64. Blast Corps or JFG sequels on the Wii would be a dream come true...too bad that we'll never EVER see a Rare game on the Wii.

And probably not sequels to those games on the Xbox360 either. :/
Blast Corps 2 would be awesome...

Yeah, but he didn't have to destroy the thing... and besides, I don't know anyone who sends N64s to starving kids in third world countries.

He's just not that funny, that's my main problem with him. He shouts obnoxiously at the camera as if we're all stupid and we need his enlightenment on stuff that doesn't matter.
