"Genji 2 is an action game based on Japanese history...the stages of the game will also be based on famous battles which actually took place in ancient Japan...so here's this giant enemy crab...attack its weak point for massive damage..."

Attack the weak point for massive damage.
Last generation, I went with Sony first and then Nintendo. This generation, I shall do the opposite.

oh noez, the crab is being called!
another...
hot damn, the ancient Japanese sure did know how to make giant robot crabs with weak points for massive damage.
Rhino!
The Cell can certainly produce incredible looking rhinos that barely move at all. And what ever happened to the giant crabs from Japan's ancient history? Is that another lost species that we can blame on deforestation or were they killed off by hunters who knew of their secret weak points?
*is on the floor laughing his ass off*

Thanks people. I needed that before I left for work. Rofl
It's Ridge Racer! Riiiiidge Raceeeer!!!

No, they were made extinct when hunted to death by Gundams that could change weapons in real-time.
I get the feeling the guys doing all the announcing didn't care, their voices were hollow, like their SOUL! They are NOBODIES!
They are ROBOTS!!
Worse than robots! Data was cool, and the Tin Man got a heart!
Would the Tin Man really be classified as a robot? I always considered him to be more of magical being than a mechanical one.
He's in a magical land but he seems to be a robot to me. I don't think the lion is magic, he's a demihuman. I mean, the tin man seems to be very robotic indeed with parts and so on (and he seems to be steam powered) and he needs oiling, and he has the CLASSIC robotic weakness, the lack of a heart (or emotions in this case). He's cold logic, or so he thinks!

I just want to know who built him.

LET US BECOME ULTIMATE NERDS AND DEBATE THE FINER POINTS OF THE TIN MAN'S NATURE!
Theory 1.) having met him previously while on the farm Dorothy is knocked unconscious and enters a dream state which we believe to be a different state of existence on a seperate unknown world or dimension though paradoxical in nature but in the idea of using one persons mind to create a new reality (as with coping with trauma or high stress) the person suffering will often use real-world counterparts while projecting their own feelings in to them creating iconic representations of these ideals, therfore the tin man is both the farm hand in the real world and Dorothy's own lack of emotional intelligence either from her guilt of running away from home or coming to terms with why the evil woman wanted to take her dog in the real world.

Theory 2.) Political statements so severely shrouded in mystery and depth to which will never be fully understood that uses the above to carry its own politically loaded message that only the elite and inner-circle semi-cultists would comprehend.

Theory 3.) Omnipotent mice.
That Last Samurai/Giant Crab thing is hilarious, I come peep it on the regular. :D Rofl
That damn Gran Turismo "footage" cracked me up each time.

RIIIDGE RACER!

Man, it's like Sony is showing how dominant they are right now by saying "Fuck it, lets make this system absolutely unappealing to EVERYONE and see what happens! Everyone will still buy it because it's Sony, right?"

"...right?"

Well, Sony execs did say "It doesn't matter if we have any games available at all, the first six million would sell regardless"...
So that game wasn't even Ridge Racer, it was Grand Turismo? Or, are they the same series? I've never cared enough about such racing games to memorize such things.

ABF, are you serious? Some exec was so out of touch he said that? Could you provide a link to that quote?

In other news, Sony has announced their answed to Brain Age, "Sylvia Brown's Psychic Training" for the PSP. You are guarenteed to be able to predict events at least as accuratly as the famous psychic!

I'm pretty sure it was someone from Sony of Europe. There's a thread about it over at GAF somewhere.

Ridge Race [PSX] was on the PSP and Gran Turismo 4 [PS2] was on the PS3.

I could look up the exact quote, but I know one of the Sony execs somewhere said it. It might make sense too -- remember that this is going to be just about the cheapest Blu-Ray player around. Of course that'll probably make it a mediocre one (like how the PS2 wasn't the greatest DVD player), but ... it'll be cheaper... so looking at it that way, there is some grounds to say that. Though of course it'd never sell on that scale with no games... especially when you consider how I'm sure he didn't just mean it as a Blu-Ray player but also as a statement about how Sony expects that in the end people will fall in line behind them like they have for two generations now regardless. I hope they're wrong. :)

Ridge Racer 64 is a fun game... irritatingly hard, but fun. What's so wrong with arcade racing (not about this comment, but all the dislike the RR franchise has these days...)?
*new title in honor of PS3 conference*
and more...lol

I actually like Ridge Racer, or RR64 at least (way, way too hard and frusterating, but a good game), but it's not too popular right now is it... :) (video, funny!)
