Quote:Bioshock is about choice. It's about exploration, problem solving, and survival. It's also about scaring the crap out of you. If you're wondering what the best game at the show is, this may very well be it. We got in at 2K Games' both to see a 20 minute demo of the game in action, and got to see a number of gameplay mechanics, as well as gaze at its gorgeous graphics. Bioshock's setting is a large part of its appeal. Set in the underwater city of Rapture, the environments are a striking blend of sci-fi machinery and art deco designs.

read up on it. It seems like it could be a great game.

PC & 360
It's the unnofficial sequel to System Shock 2, made by the same developer. It better be incredible, given how that is one of the great first person games of all time... :)
Spank me. it's another 360 game added to my list of must haves (the list is now 5)

Stupid IGN...
It may only kind of be an FPS, but it's FPS enough for me to be sure that it'll be far better on PC, that's for sure...

Of course my PC would never run it, but that doesn't mean that I'd suddenly prefer the console version. :)
You're so weird.
No normal person should actually WANT to play a FPS one a console gamepad if they have any alternative...
$350 vs. $1000
Truly worth the additional money. :)
It probably is IF YOU ARE RICH.
Decent PCs are useful for so many things that there's no excuse for not having a decent one, at least each time you buy a new one that is...
Yeah, but most people aren't go to upgrade their computer every year just to play the most recent games. My computer stopped being able to play recent games about 3 years ago. The most recent game I have is Civ 3.
A decent computer doesn't run Bioshock, a decent computer runs Unreal Tournament 2004 with most of the setting turned down.

Past time to upgrade then...

Yeah, my computer is horribly out of date, and is 4 1/2 years old, but until a year ago I could still buy a decent number of new titles... now about the only new ones I can play are low-end ones and addons to older titles (like Guild Wars: Factions, which runs fine just like the original game), but... well, I could get my computer replaced soon... it all depends on when I want a new one now, really. I have the opportunity to get a new computer, but I don't know if I want to with what seems to be a bunch of big changes coming soon... I don't want to get a computer now and find that in nine months I've got to spend a huge amount to upgrade it to Vista/DX10 graphics card or be left quickly behind. :(
Why should I upgrade my computer, though, if it does everything else I need it to? Yeah, it's a 7-year-old computer, but it still runs fine, and I don't feel like spending $1000 on a brand new one right now. Yeah, I can't play games, but it's not worth spending the money on right now. I do plan on updating in another year or so, but I don't like having my computer purchases dictated by the ability to play games.
