My opinion that Fallout fans are right to be worried hasn't changed, Bethesda doesn't make games like Fallout... nice poster though.
Is this the only thread we have about Fallout 3?
Well, there's this one...

Hah, now this is an old thread... for a game we'd probably all rather pretend never existed...

And I reference the old Fallout games plenty of places, like here but that's also not Bethesda Fallout 3.

Wanting to continue the discussion we were having at NeoGAF, GR? (in this thread)

I go through all the trouble of clicking on that link and going through that thread only to find that you haven't made a new post yet? Come on now.
Fallout 3 Fan Q&A:

The more I hear about this, the better it sounds.
Yeah... we'll see.

in addition to that comment there I also think one other thing... about the conversation system, as referenced. "We'll make it very clear when you're doing a thing with major ramifications'? That reminds me way too much of KotOR... "THIS IS THE GOOD OPTION" "THIS IS THE NEUTRAL OPTION" "THIS IS THE EVIL OPTION", as if the player REALLY needed help... the whole point should be letting the person say what they want and get the results. Making things that obvious doesn't help. For instance... Fallout, or Torment. Neither one tells you clearly which options are good or evil... you just have to figure it out or learn from experience. What he was saying sounded definitely simplified compared to that... and that's exactly what I expect. I mean, no one makes games like Fallout or Torment anymore. Deep PC single-player RPGs are evidently out of date... :(
Always looking for the negative...
As I should be, with this game.
They specifically said that the dialogue will be branching and in-depth with certain dialogue choices that will succeed based on percentages derived from the speech skill, how much the person likes you, and the difficulty of what you're asking for, along with extra dialogue choices based on speech skill, charisma and the perks you have and you're concerned because in some cases it might be made a bit obvious what consequence your choice will have? Come on.
I thought what you meant by deep was something altogether different. As far as gameplay, this is just as deep, it's just not "true to life" in that you often don't know the future consequences of your choices. Is that what you mean by deep?

At any rate, I'd actually like them to stick to the old system myself.
I'm cautiously optimistic.
