This is the BEST CLOCK EVAR because now you can make people suffer just to keep time!

Does it know your timezone, or is it just US Eastern time?
Haha. That's pretty cool.
The animation works off your system clock, since it's running on your computer, so if your system clock is in the right time zone, then yes it does know. Couldn't you check that yourself though? I mean is military time that hard? Just subtract 12 if it's a number higher than 12 and you have the PM time.
Ah... basing it off the system clock. That makes sense... I wondered how they knew the correct timezone without having you to select it like most clocks.

Oh, and 24 hour clocks are a pain... its not really that hard to convert it to normal 12 hour time, but it takes time... I can't just look at the clock and know what time it is...
[russian accent]Haha, styoopeed American![/accent] I got used to the 24 hour clock system in a matter of weeks when I moved to Europe. It's quite nice, actually.

That's a cool clock, BTW.
You should start memorizing your math tables up to 25 or so then. Once you get at least your subtraction tables that high, conversion takes place almost instantly just by looking at it. For that matter, you don't NEED to convert it, just get the feel for what 17:00 is.
Heh, that's a pretty cool clock.
Despite there being no need to do so, I memorized the 24 hour clock. I guess it's because I've used a lot of machines that use that system, I guess.
There's not even much of anything to memorize.

Just remember TWO lines.

If hour is greater than 12, subtract 12 and suffix with PM.

If not converting to 12 hour format then
if hour is equal to 24 change hour to 00 'this is midnight

What is so hard about that? When converting the other way, just one line.

If hour is PM, add 12.

Seriously, there is nothing to military time!
Its just a pain to have to subtract 12 every time... its not HARD, but it takes a while and I don't instantly know what the time is...
It's only known as military time in North America
People always compain about military time being "hard to remember". My coworkers have little papers that tell them what is what. If you can do simple math, you can figure out military time, it's not difficult.
Well guess what, we are IN North America, and that includes Canada.
