Videogames too.

What do I mean? I mean, watching TV is fun, in a mindless way, but when I don't have TV, or are limited to just a channel or two, I just don't care very much. So I'm missing some stuff I would watch... eh, oh well. Was it really worth it anyway? Going to the same website for the fifth time today has much more value. :) ... but really, it is true... though I watch TV when I have it, when I don't, or only have limited access, I barely mind at all... (and that is most of the time; at home we only have the cheapest package, which means 'the networks and just a few others', and at school... well half of the time I haven't had a television at all and of the other half, it hasn't always been cable- ready... like one semester I had one that only got up to channel 13, or there's this year, where my cable line has been broken all year so all I've gotten is very fuzzy PBS and ABC over the air...)

Figured out what had happened to the cable port today (it broke off onto the end of the wire), so now it works, in a fashion, and I am reminded of why I didn't bother to try to get this fixed before now. :)

There's also the problem that I have to use an RF switch for my consoles (it's not all bad though, at least the screensize is at least moderate... (18" I think?)) and, as with every one I've used, this RF switch's "TV passthrough" port is completely nonfunctional, requiring me to unplug the cable line every time I want to use videogames... yeah, that was another consideration of mine. Videogames > TV too, after all. :)

I agree, but TV is really just there to BE mindless. To ot care about anything and watch something entertaining. The only 'sitcoms' I watch now are Futurama, Simpsons, Family Guy, etc but History, Discovery, PBS, anything that has a purpose actually takes my interest.

I probably watch about an hour of TV a day and I fire up the video games for around 4 hours a day (through out the day) and the rest of my time is devoted to projects like editing, composing, etc. I guess I met the same outcome you did... what's the point of TV anymore?

With the exception of football games, I absolutely never, ever watch TV.

This isn't something I actively do. There's just nothing whatsoever that interests me.

There's still a number of shows I watch on TV, so, no, it's not irrelevent yet.

Yeah, there are still a few TV shows I find to be worth my time, although I don't watch TV as much as I used to. I do, however, spend more time on the internet than I do watching TV or playing video games.

Now that Arrested Development is off TV I'll probably only watch sports, the History Channel, and the Discovery Channel. I usually watch Seinfeld too, but I have that on when I'm writing lesson plans so I'm not really watching TV as much as having it on as background noise.

Not much of a tv person myself... Until we get Direct Tv soon; nah, I probably won't even watch it then.

I have like.. let's see.. UPN, CBS, PBS, ABC, NBC and FOX. Basically, I have the shit-channels. Now having more would be a damn blessing, but there's no guarantee I'd ever watch it.

Me? I'm more of a book, video game, and internet person myself.

Mostly I watch Fox News and Cartoon Network. And on occasion ABC [when lost is on].

^ I love watching Cartoon Network. That's the only channel I'll probably be watching if we get it.

I have hundreds of channels, yet I haven't turned on my TV all weekend. I only watch TV about an hour a day,as compared to probably four hours a day two years ago. My internet time has increased exponentially, so I'd say that TV is becoming irrelevant in my life.

I watch the following:

Fox: The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad
UPN: South Park (I rarely watch it here due to syndication cutting it all up)
TBS: Family Guy, Futurama
Cartoon Network: Family Guy, Futurama, American Dad (which I don't think they're showing anymore)
Comedy Central: South Park, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, The Showbiz Show, Chapelle's Show (those last four I don't watch frequently, just when I'm flipping and they happen to be on)

And in fact, lately, I haven't even been watching those shows a whole lot, mainly because they're all in reruns currently. Not to mention Fox only shows recent episodes of The Simpsons, and ABC stopped showing their chopped up, syndicated old episodes of The Simpsons, so in order to see the old episodes, I have to watch my DVDs... which isn't an inconvenience or anything. Damn, I can't wait for Animaniacs to be released on DVD. (It's set for this summer, according to tvshowsondvd.com.) I'd also like to buy some uncut anime on DVD, but it's just so damn expensive...

So yeah, I find myself burning most of my free time on the internet or by playing a video game. I'm also reading a lot more than I used to. Most of what's on TV sucks, and much of what I do watch is in reruns.
