"Nintendo has even purchased some"

This could mean many things, it could mean that Revolution could be predominately a TV console with games specially for the visor. This could mean that Nintendo is just looking in to new technology for handhelds.

Remember this one?

"the virtual boy is something we'll come back to, when technology catches up with our ideas."

Oh yeah, I said it. Virtual Boy 2.

Personally if we see anything from this, i'm expecting to see Nintendo release an FPS multiplayer game along with the visor peripheral.

No matter what it is, it involves Nintendo and stereoscopic visors.
Virtual DS?

Maybe!
Hmm... VR... I know that it'll eventually be good, but now... it's early, and doesn't work as well. And it seperates you from the world, so you can't see the controller and stuff... the HUD-style headset thing (like the R-Zone you mentioned, Lazy) is perhaps a better idea on that respect, but it'd not be as immersive, so I'm not sure what would be best... maybe it is time for the return of VR to the mainstream, but if it happens I'd want it to be good. Revolution? I don't know if that's the right format... that controller? Seems like one where it'd be important to be able to see it in relation to the screen... you'd need some kind of special attachment to make it work with VR, I'm sure. Perhaps they could do it, but...
Hopefully this headset won't be like that heavy, crappy one I tried at Dave & Busters like 5-8 years ago. If it's well-done, it'd be awesome for Nintendo to include stereoscopic headsets (rather than an add-on).

Then again, hopefully whatever Nintendo has in store for us will catch on, instead of pushing them further into the niche market until they float away and make playing cards again.
