Looks like classic 2d SMB platforming action... except with Peach, on DS. Interesting that there's both this and New Super Mario Bros. (which of course is 3d, but both are 2d-gameplay Mario-style titles...)... they could say this is "aimed at girls" but going by the gameplay video, that'd be more marketing than going by what's actually in the game gameplay-wise... well, except for those heart things on the lower screen, but that's just another attempt to find use for the lower screen by using it for option activation... but anyway, watch the video.
Actually looks pretty good. Peach's hovering abilities were always different from those of the typical platformer star, so it should open up som new gameplay elements when they design a whole game around it.
Yeah, I wasn't sure what kind of gameplay to expect from this one, but it looks like a traditional Nintendo platformer... and it is nice to see that Peach's floating skills are intact. :)
Neat.
Sweeeeet.
With this, combined with her incarnation in SMB2 and SMRPG, you have to wonder why she can't just rescue herself from Bowser's clutches. Then again, Mario can't seem to escape from jail right now...

I guess in Mushroom land "captured" status nullifies your magic powers.
The 'capture' story in Paper Mario was good, but in PM2... I don't know, I was hoping for something different that time... "the helpless princess gets captured" is not good storytelling, and 'the computer falls in love with her'? Kind of lame... sorry...
Yeah, the computer falling in love with Peach was the worst part of PM2, an otherwise awesome game. Seriously, what the hell were they on?
Spoilers people!
I stopped playing PM2 partway through, haven't played in a few months... just didn't grab me as much as the first one for some reason. I know it's a good game, but... (I know I said this before, earlier this summer... haven't gone back to the game since I think. Maybe I should, but I have so many games I could be playing... or maybe it's because I have so many games I get bored of a lot of them fast, never getting close to finishing a lot of them... or one of those phases where I'm bored of stuff for no good reason? Anyway, the only game I've played today is Capcom vs SNK 2... though I played Fire Emblem:TSS yesterday. And probably will later tonight too. :)
What? Is it MY fault if you haven't played one of the best games on the Cube? No. I blame this on you.
The fact that you can actually debate which are the best RPGs on Cube says how much better the situation is when compared to N64... :)
Indeed :D.

Although, in my eyes, PM2 is a definite contender for that title.
Nah, Skies of Arcadia wins. :)

I have SoA, Tales of Symphonia, PM2... and Lost Kingdoms, Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, and Gauntlet: Dark Legacy, if those count. All are good games... but I definitely liked Skies the best.
Can't say for sure, as I have yet to play Skies. From what I HAVE played though, PM2 wins.
I love PM2. It's freakin' awesome. Hell, I may even like it slightly better than the first PM, which was also freakin' awesome. I've been thinking of replaying them both, or at least PM2. Yeah, I should do that.
