Why don't we have a moon like this? All we have is boring dead as dirt Luna...
Wasn't this months ago?
This happened a number of months ago. It's still pretty cool though. I like this picture more though:

Color-corrected of course, so it might not really look like that.
Yea, I remember anxiously waiting for Huygens to set down... these pics of Titan were breath-taking. Now how anyone could see those pictures, and NOT want to explore space is beyond me. Just looking at those makes me yearn to build my own rocketship and go out their on my own.
Not really color corrected, just colored.
They didn't just throw in arbitrary colors though.
In this case, with the image in visible light? Yeah. A lot of the time though, they take pictures in other wavelengths and pretty much any color they use from that point is arbitrary.

And this is more exciting than Luna? Because it's brown?

Luna is way better. FuSoYa lives there!
No, FuSoYa lives on some second moon of some other world that floated away somewheres.

It's brown, but you should have read. It has an ATMOSPHERE.

Also, that's ice there, water ice. Those rocks, ice. Ice that is, most likely, though possibly contaminated.
Titan has seas of liquid methane! That's pretty cool if you ask me!
Yeah!

EM: And you want to GO to this place?

DJ: You're right... damn, what was I thinking?
:D

But...FuSoYa is a Lunarian! Luna! That has to be where he lives! Go look at the moon through a telescope, you'll see that big crystal tower there! It's just south of the moon landing site and just east from Bahamut's cave. Really, it's there :)
It would have to be pretty big to see it on my telescope...

:D
Its the only "moon " we know of with a atmosphere, Albeit if people plan on settling there, Will have to plaster a really big no smoking sign!
Why did you put moon in quotes? It is a moon.

Also, others have an atmosphere. Maybe not one that's much to speak of, but I believe there's at least one with a combustible atmosphere, if you added heat and oxygen anyway.
This is off topic, but...

You love Auron, don't you, EdenMaster? :D A few months ago, you had a South Park version of him (I later saw the Flash movie from which you got it) and now you've got Bender dressed as Auron as your avatar. :D
You bet I'm an Auron freak. He's awesome, by far the best character in FFX and one of my favorite video game characters of all time. I also have a transparent red little Auron statuette on my cars dashboard, a 10 inch tall vinyl statue right next to my TV, and a scroll on my wall :D. Look, here's the vinyl statue (low quality, I know. It's with my cameraphone. Wavebird is there for size reference).

And before you label me the biggest Auron fan there is, At least I haven't bought THIS! (It says VII, but that's obviously a mistake)

I would certainly accept the title of second or third biggest, though :)
I'll admit, Auron is an awesome character. I agree that he's the best character from FFX. (Just like Bender is by far the best character from Futurama.)

And that's why the avatar is so perfect :D. I also have Fry as Tidus and Leela as Yuna (Amy as Rikku and Zoidberg as Kimahri seem like perfect matches but those three were the only ones the guy made.) Here's the full pictures:
Awesome. Yeah, I was thinking Amy should be Rikku. Zoidberg as Kimahri is also a match. And Hermes as Wakka. Sure, they look nothing alike (one's black and the other's white) but they have almost the same accent. :D

But Bender is voiced by the same guy as Wakka!
Huh...I never knew that, and I'm the resident FFX freak! Pretty cool...

On an Auron-related side note it seems that Matt McKenzie (Auron's voice actor) will be lending his talents once again for Auron's appearance in Kingdom Hearts II. I wasn't quite sure if they'd get him or someone else, since none of the characters from KH had their original voice actors (even though I KNOW they were kids).

It'll be kind of nice though to have Auron's actual voice behind him, I think it'll add a lot to his character if he's relatable to the original Auron.
If he sounds the same, it's fine.

Besides, they did change the voice actor for the American version, and from what I understand, people obsessed with accurate translations say the American voice actors suck, or some such thing.
Well obviously, everyone in FFX (or most any game for that matter) will. The American version will have different voice actors than the Japanese version because of, you know, DIFFERENT LANGUAGES.

I can't say for sure about the differences between the Japanese and American voice actors since I've only heard one version (and I'm so used to it, I probably wouldn't relate the characters to other voices). Though from my experience, there isn't one character in FFX who's voice acting isn't spot on. Wakka's actor lands Besaids island accent perfectly, while at the same time voicing the gruff Kimahri. Seymour's voices is one of ym favorites. He just SOUNDS sinister from the first time you hear him speak, and that evil-sounding voice really adds to his crazed rantings and maniacal laughter later on. Honestly, I can think of no voice actor who I can consider doing any less than a fantastic job with their character(s) on FFX.
You know what would make a perfect secret boss in Wonderland? Kefka. I can just see him being taunted by Chesire Cat.

And, how do we even know there is a Beseid Island accent TO be captured perfectly?

I suppose we don't, but in the end, I myself think the voices work just fine. Yuna isn't really supposed to sound emotional or anything. She's supposed to sound distant and unattached through most of the game.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to KH2. I just hope they include some pre-FF7 characters in there.
Well not a real accent specific to Besaid. I just kind of meant the island, somewhat Caribbean accent. Either way, being able to play two characters with such different voices and personalities shows a lot for Wakka/Kimahri's actor.

And yes, Kefka would fit in great in Wonderland :D. If Sephiroth is to return, can we PLEASE think of a better actor than Lance-friggen'-Bass? Arguably one of the biggest, most badass villains that gaming has ever known, and they leave his voice up to the lead singer of a teen boy band...there's no excuse for that :shake:
I agree, why the fuck did they let Lance Bass voice Sephiroth?! While we're at it, let's let Aaron Carter do the voice of Vincent! No, I'm kidding! Don't you dare do that, Disney!

To UMM: Yeah, I read somewhere recently that Bender and Wakka had the same voice actor. I thought that was pretty cool. As a matter of fact, doesn't Bender have the same voice actor as Hermes too? John DiMaggio, is it? I'll have to look up his biography sometime and see.
Hermes was voiced by Phil LaMarr.
The guy who voices Yoshimitsu in Soul Calibur II is also one of the male Sim voices in The Sims 2.
Who cares who voiced Sephiroth? If you ask me, that voice worked perfectly for that character. I don't care if he murders babies outside of that, he did a good job. I didn't notice anything wrong with the voice. He sounded like exactly what he was, a nihilistic power hungry murderer.

And no, I'm pretty sure Sephy isn't coming back. Something about being killed by the one who bears the keyblade... Well, Hades could bring him back.

And, "one of the most" doesn't say much. Every end boss in the FF series is awesome.
Oh yeah, no dispute there, they are all great, but this is Sephiroth. The Sephiroth. The villian you love to hate from, arguably, one of the greatest games ever created. Sephiroth, the winner of not one, but TWO GameFAQs character battles (including greatest villain, and greatest overall) and he recently came in only second to Link in the latest one. A recent issue of EGM showed a unanimous staff judgment of Sephiroth being the greatest villain of all time.

So yeah sure, there are awesome bad-guys, but then there is Sephiroth.

Great Rumbler Wrote:Hermes was voiced by Phil LaMarr.
Also the voice of Vamp from MGS2 ;)
In an attempt to bring this discussion back to astronomical matters: So there's a tenth "planet" named Xena and it has a moon named Gabrielle.
Whaaaat?
You have Sephrioth wrong. He wanted to become a god-like being by absorbing the Lifestream when it came out to repair the damage caused by Meteor. Which would kill everyone going by how the concepts in FFVII are explained.

Quote:I think that's why he's my fave. Anyway, if they put him in Kingdom Hearts 2, or like a later one or something, the battle music should be the famous one, you know, Dance of Madness. Only, fully orchastrated and voiced with some latin speaking lyrics in place of just the synthesized oohs and aahs in the original.

Oooh latin lyrics never used before *cough*onewingedangel*cough*

As for FFX voices in other places then FFX Jecht's VA did Cutthroat Bill in The Curse of Monkey Island. Try to imagine Jecht singing a pirate shanty.

I never said they were never used before, but I can't think of a single reason why they shouldn't be used AGAIN. They always work.

And yes, I know that about Sephy. That doesn't contradict what I said about him. He's BOTH of those things. He is ego incarnate. All FF final bosses are some negative thingy incarnate. You either fight death itself, chaos itself, insanity itself, null itself, or some esoteric thing like that, and then physically beat it up. That's humanity for you. Something giving you a hard time? It's not actually a real thing? Well, MAKE it real and then KILL it with a big rock!

I mean, through the whole game it is made clear that after Sephiroth fell into darkness he became completely self absorbed and didn't care about ANYONE but himself. He barely even bothered with any speeches beyond "you are worthless". He stood around with arms spread staring into the sky talking about how great he was and how great his plan was, and Cloud really didn't care about him or his stupid plans at all. That was pretty much Sephiroth's tragic flaw, well, put in that way...

"Thinks about Cutthroat Bill's voice"

"Thinks about Tidus' father's voice"

...You're right! My mind has been blown! He didn't even bother changing the voice up or anything!

Oh, Jecht's VA (Gregg Berger) has been in a bunch of stuff. I believe he was one of the voices for one of the Allied naval units in C&C Red Alert 2, and he also played the voice of The Pain in MGS3. Anybody remember the short-lived animated series Duckman (with Jason Alexander) that lasted maybe two seasons? Gregg Berger played his pig sidekick Cornfed. He was also a caller on an episode of Frasier, and even did voices for The Jetsons back in the 60's.
What do you people actually read the ending credits or something?
Okay I'm confused. One second you are saying "don't ever go to that site" and the next you reveal you go there constantly. So which is it?
Internet Movie Database. It's a beautiful thing.
Dark Jaguar Wrote:Okay I'm confused. One second you are saying "don't ever go to that site" and the next you reveal you go there constantly. So which is it?

Now, it's you that's confused me. When did I say anything about never going to the IMDB?
Oh no, actually it was GR saying something bad about it after saying it was good. Basically lazy brought it up in some argument and GR said that place is worthless for movie info and not to trust their information.
I didn't say it was worthless for movie info, it's worthless for movie REVIEWS and the forums are filled with morons. Everything else is good.
