Yuck, that sounds like ass.

What I want is an online version of 4-Swords with WW graphics in 3-D. Playing with 3 complete strangers and trying to organize yourselves would be awesome. You could even have it so that the fairies make a come back, if you play as one you're in charge of giving the players a Z target, acting as a lamp to light dark areas and even doing Tingle-like things such as finding hidden treasures and secret areas. so combined, you have a total of 8 players.

Now throw the idea of timed dungeons in to the mix. In one dungeon, you could have 4 groups of 8 players. Each group is working to finish the dungeon and claim the prize. You could all work together or fight eachother, form larger teams or be loners. Trade items, even rupees, whatever you want or need.

MMORPG's are ass on top of ass, i'd hate to see a game like Zelda fall in to that catagory. Zelda is an action adventure game first and foremost, not a run around for 3 hours in a wasteland kind of game. :D
I know, but I wasn't thinking of making it an RPG. I was thinking of making it an action adventure...

The idea of online 4 swords is great, and the idea of two teams competing is too.

Anyway, I was thinking the zora classes might be martial artist, boomeran... er..., and a guy who specializes in electrical abilities.

The problem is, while I can come up with a lot of puzzles involving the range and magic classes, the close up fighter seems a tough one... I may end up just giving all the classes close range combat skills, with small variations.

And yes lazy, the average MMORPG involves trudging endlessly through boring lands, but that's not the half of it! You ALSO get to be bored with the constant XP hunting. You actually will end up forming parties for hours on end for the sole singular purpose of going up a level or two, and that's it. Good luck actually getting people together to go on one of those cookie cutter quests, which are usually dull enough due to the nature of how MMORPGs are to be all that interesting the first time.

Hence, why I'm really not thinking of going that way. Leveling up will be done classic Zelda style, by going on quests to get pieces of heart and so on. The "so on" in this case will include finding Zelda 2 style swordsmen and wizards which will, among teaching you new techniques, will also "train" you to be stronger in various stats. So, a quest to level up and a quest for the fun of going on a quest will be one and the same. That alone should kill a lot of the boring aspects.
Four Swords would be a perfect online game. I hope they make an online one for Revolution...
