Well, almost. It's insanely fun. Why isn't anyone talking about it? SHAME ON YOU PEOPLE!

I only got to play it for a little while at my friend's house, but I haven't played something so immersive and thrilling like this in a really long type. As gimmicky as it may sound, banging on a set of bongos to play a platformer is insanely fun. A pure rush of adrenaline. Seriously, whoever thought this up is a genius. The learning curve was nothing and it felt extremely satisfying once I started getting really good, and in this game you REALLY get into it. I can't explain it, you people simply need to buy this game NOW.

JUNGLE GET!
It looks pretty good. Really short, but good...
Is it really any different than if they had you press the two analog triggers to play the game, or something?

I can only say that paying for the bongos and also this game just isn't something I want to do... Now, if I could get BOTH for about $20...
The bongo-free version is $40 and the one with bongos is $55, at least on EBWorld... in some stores I'm sure you could find it with bongos for $50... that's not exactly a lot more than a normal game. :)

If I had more money for getting new games I think I'd get this. As it is, I hope I do eventually.

Oh absolutely, the bongos make all the difference in the world. The reason why it's so fun to play is that you really get actively, physically involved in the entire experience. Smacking the bongos repeatedly makes for an incredible ride. You have to play it to see what I mean. But really get into it, don't hold back. Definitely worth $55 IMO.
I definitely be getting it as soon as I can.
I think that this is going to be a huge hit with casuals. I went into Circuit City the other day and saw these two guys having a blast with the demo unit there. I can't wait to let my non-gamer friends play it.
So you mean it's EXACTLY like Dance Dance Revolution? Well, Donkey Konga IS exactly like that, and this is not...
Erm

Who said anything about DDR...
No, it's more like Donkey Kong Country...in 3D...with bongos...
Sounds dumb, but don't knock it before you try it.
I saw a demo of it at Gamestop. It looked fun.
You need to PLAY it.
I'll play it when I buy it.
Yes good idea.

You know DJ, perhaps this game isn't for you. Not everyone is going to enjoy the game, especially if they can't physically get into something like this. It's for people that love getting tactile feedback from their games, even if it doesn't really make sense.
You were talking to GR that whole time and somehow you assumed that about me? My posts are all at the top, above GR's. You two are the ones who slowly played the telephone game with what I said.
Played the telephone game? What are you even talking about?
You know, that game where someone says something to someone, and they say it to someone else, and so on, but like it's a little different each time until something totally different is heard at the other end?

...

never mind, on second though that's not exactly applicable here. What I mean is, you two got to talking about something I didn't even say and somewhere along the lines OB1 thought that was what I said... or something...

Anyway, I actually would like to play this game, but I just wanted to make sure that the whole drum thing wasn't just some silly gimicky thing. If the whole experience depends on actually slapping those bongos around, then okay then, and it seems the full set isn't really all that expensive, so alright then. Honestly, I'm interested in this game. I must say I was NOT interested in Donkey Konga. Even though I've spent way too much money on DDR arcade machines, part of the experience was songs that were either good or just hilarious to dance to. The demo didn't have any of that classic hilarious Japanese pop music (there's a reason the animutation experience is so funny, I LOVE We Drink Ritalin), but rather cheesy 1980's music... That's not so much funny, or fun... to me it's just.... sad... So, since the demo confirmed beyond a shadow of a hedgehog that yes, Donkey Konga WAS in fact just DDR wth bongos and NOTHING more, possibly less, then I didn't really want it. This on the other hand... THIS seems like it'll be fun.
Yeah I don't like Donkey Konga either, and it's precisely because of the crappy songs.

The whole bongo thing IS a gimmick, just as much as a force feedback driving wheel is, or the maracas for Samba De Amigo are. But it's a FUN gimmick. Without the bongos it would not be that great of a platformer, but since they designed the whole game around the bongos it's fantastic. Utterly fantastic. There is actually rhythm involved, but it's platforming rhythm. If that makes sense. Hopefully you'll see what I mean when you play the game.

And I know that was GR, thanks. I was just expanding on my earlier post.
Actually, you've been pretty clear the whole time. Yeah, I get exactly what you mean.
Well good.
