Throughout the history of videogaming there've been clear leaders in almost ever generation. In the early years it was Atari, then Nintendo, and now Sony holds the number one spot. Can Sony maintain their lead for a third generation and if they can't who'll take their position from them? Bust out your crystal balls and start brewing some tea, becuase we're gonna start making predictions!

P.S. Your prediction doesn't necessarily have to be for the upcoming generation. You can make predictions farther ahead than that if it pleases you.
I predict that Sony will still lead the gaming industry in the next generation and possibly even generations thereafter.
I think that Microsoft will eventually pull ahead of Sony.
That's my second guess, anyway. If anybody will do it, it'll be Microsoft.
Still, I think it's only a matter of time before Electronic Arts decides to try their hand at making a console, it's the next logical step in their progression.
Sony!

The Xbox just cannot compare to it , There is a crowd of anti MS folk like myself even though I own a Xbox who will never buy it simpily because its made and owned by monoposoft. They need to do more then just Halo and a few shabby ports from sony to ever succeed, More exclusive games they should try to get the Resident Evil franchise next round for instance they should stop trying to fit into every foot print left in the soil by Sony .They do need on the other hand to follow with Nintendo and Sony get compact and portable , As for HDD I hope they seriously dont ditch it , Maybe it could be a bundle that is seperate from the machine itself and sell it for 60 bucks and have memmory cards for those who dont want Xboxlive and benefits of HDD , Have games that dont require it but make sure there is enough software that will make use of the HDD which is still farely necessary for Xboxlive and MMORPG's how else can you get additional content and updates?

I dont know Nintendo should bother with consoles? I wish they could win but Nintendo doesnt have the drive to do it.

personally I wont be buying a next gen console when they come out atleast not untill 2 years after.

Buying at launch is a huge risk , The games usually suck , The console could go sega and become defunct, Plus the consoles usually get upgraded after reach year and the first generation from the launch somtimes become incompatible with later games, Finally it usually cost more early on and then the price goes down.

THE WHO
Hmm...not exactly what I was talking about.
It's my favorite album ever. Can't help it that you used it's name for the thread.
I say Sony because when that ps3 comes out, the 5-16 year olds will go nuts.:nodding:
