My favorite enemies so far are the invisible cockroach things. They freak me out real good.

I've been experimenting with the treasures and found that by combining certain treasures you can make some extremely valuable stuff. Try combining things that say "This object has 3 divots in it, like something used to be there" with jewels that say "the etchings on this jewel looks like it used to be set in something."

I hate those guys!!
Large, engrossing game? I've got more of those than I can count to finish, don't need another one... :)

I'm sure RE4 is good, though. Though it is a bit dissapointing to hear that it's more of an action game and less of an adventure game than its predecessors.
Quote:The part that got me was trying to get through Salazars hedge maze. You could HEAR those dogs like they were RIGHT NEXT TO YOU, and you never knew which way they were coming from, if you were safe or not.

I hated that part too, but luckily I had enough healing agents to carry me through.

If by "action" you mean "not constantly running out of ammo" and by "adventure" you mean "going through the same handful of locations a hundred times looking for useless widgets and keys"...
I'm on my 3rd playthrough using the Chicago Typewriter. Nothing like a machine gun with unlimited ammo to destroy your accuracy! :D
RE4 is probably my favorite GC game after MP 1 & 2, WW, and Mario Sunshine.
Yeah, it's near the top of my list too. Poor ABF has no idea what he's missing.
Indeed.
I've been playing Wizards & Warriors for the past few weeks, so I don't care much about not playing RE4... awesome game... a big expansive PC RPG. I got it during Christmas break when I saw it used at EB... by the guy behind the best Wizardry games so I thought it'd be good but it quite definitely has exceeded my expectations. Lots of fun... I'm like 40 hours into it and am probably a third of the way through. First-person RPG, by the way. Like Wizardry. :)
In RE4 you can shoot guys with a shotgun, though.
Yeah.
So has anyone beaten RE4 yet? I'm getting fairly close to the end, just made it to the second disk.
I've finished the game 3 times now on normal. I have the Infinite Launcher, the Chicago Typewriter and the Handcannon. All 3 of those weapons have infinite ammo and cause insane amounts of destruction. Most bosses are about one or two hits to kill! I'll play a 4th time on professional but what sucks is that I wont be able to bring my super-weapons with me. You have to start clean.

So far I found that the following weapons are given to you free:

Punisher (upgraded version given to you if you shoot all the coins without reading the sign)

Shotgun (Pueblo)

Rocket Launcher (single fire, Castle)

Broken Butterfly (Castle)

Handcannon (Complete Mercs with 5 star rating, all boards all characters then talk to merchant)

I think some other weapons might be given free, but I haven't found them yet. If you want to make some serious money very quickly in the game, just go bottle cap collecting the first chance you get. Also be sure to kill crows as they drop money as well. A mix of Red, Green and Yellow sells at 10,000 bucks and selling the upgraded punisher that you got for free will get you some moula as well. Make sure you buy the treasure maps as they show you the locations of every treasure in the game; including the amber ring and the antique pipe. Dont let treasures fall in mud as they'll lose their value and be sure to complete your treasures if they have holes or divots in them. A completed treasure usually sells for around 2 to 3 times the original amount.

The first time you fight El Gigante there's a cool glitch in the game. Right when you start go grab the yellow herb and mix it with a green. Use it, and then let Gigante kill you. When the game asks you if you want to continue select yes and then go grab the yellow herb again. You can find more green herbs around the boss fight area; just be sure to use them before you let Gigante kill you. You can keep doing this until you have a full health bar.

After you fight Del Lago (the lake monster) and it starts to rain, just get back in the boat and head to the other side of the lake. You'll find some wolves and then you can fight El Gigante before you get the key for the church!

And my favorite easter egg: Whenever Ashley is waiting for you to catch her from a high place, look up and use a scoped weapon. She'll call you a pervert and close her legs together. But if she's right above you, you can use the c-stick to look up her dress and she wont say anything :D

If you unlocked her special costume and use a scoped weapon to look up there, she wont say anything because she's wearing pants and not a skirt. Pretty cool detail from the designers.
Haha, that's awesome. Only you would check that, lazy. :p
