*dodges stones* Well, I thought it was a fun game when I rented it back in the day.

Actually, there was a shitload of dirt-cheap used N64 games at EB. I might have to splurge and also pick up Goldeneye 007 for $15...

Has anyone else found good deals lately?
Erm
I was always going to buy Yoshi's Story when EB was selling it for $20 new to get rid of supplies, but I never did. I haven't found anything for a good price lately, but I got most of the N64 games I want for cheap a couple years ago.
OB1 and others: You're probably wondering why I didn't pick up Goldeneye for that price. ;) Well, I figured it would have to be substantially fun and different to Perfect Dark before paying that much for it. I'd be picking it up moreso for its single player, rather than multiplayer *points to Perfect Dark*, especially considering that I rarely have time to play against other people.

But since I should probably pick up the game while its still common and cheap, I'm thinking of splurging again...
But Quest 64 really sucks...
No it doesn't! It's fun! Its graphics are poor and some of the animations are cheesy, but it's fun! You have this stick, and you can hit enemies with it... it's fun! And you can get all these elements and build up your magic... fun! And I distinctly remember being able to gain a very slightly larger amount of HP every time I got my ass kicked, which was also fun. A nice, simple RPG and battle system for my short-ass attention-span, unlike FF8... lotsa fun! :p

Who'da thought, even after buying my fancy-shmancy GameCube, it still doesn't seem to hold the charm of N64 and its games... so many memories.

BTW- how's the battle system in Kingdom Hearts? I know its real-time and blah blah blah, but how's the magic, leveling up, elements, etc?
I never played Quest 64 or Aidyn Chronicles (remember, it was a similar styled game)... I should sometime, who knows, I might like them...
Silly Jellybean, Quest 64 is worth at most $5. EB overcharged you by $10. Skies of Arcadia, meanwhile, is worth every penny. That whole "movement ring" crap was just a terrible idea. Terrible. Almost as bad as double-sided toilet paper. Skies of Arcadia has the magic system Quest 64 wishes it could have. This is all exacerbated by a crappy item system, no other playable characters, throwaway NPC's, and a paper-thin story. I'm not going to convince you, because you must be a magical being to manufacture enjoyment out of such a substandard product. And nobody should argue with magical beings.
I got 007 for 8$ and me and my friend split it so it came down to 4$...Im so cheap:D

Chuckle :D :D

Skies of Arcadia sounds like a cool game, but I don't really have the time or money for a $50(?) RPG that I don't know if I'll enjoy. However, once given the chance, I'll definately rent it. It sounds cool.
i rented Quest 64 a while back...to see how bad it was, and because IGN said that it had pretty spell effects. and i remember the camera being absolutely infuriating and staying alive was a real hard thing to do...although dying just sent you back to the last save spot with all the items and EXP you'd gotten to that point...so it wasn't really a punishment. but i didn't find the game to be THAT terrible. i'd certainly not pay $15 for it...but $5 definately. Hybrid Heaven, now there's an underrated RPG that i'd pay $15 for.
By amazing, unrelated coincidence, I started playing Quest again today...one of MY FAVORITE games, and I've come to defend it!

*Goron troops burst into the room with machine guns, and surround everyong making fun of Quest 64.*

Quest may've been short, and lacked almost all conventional RPG things (money comes to mind), but IT WAS STILL FUN! I paid...(well, my father paid...) the FULL price for it back in 1999, and I'm proud of it! I beat it back then, and I intend to beat it again now. The music is cozy and warm-feeling, and there are so many spells, and it's STILL exciting to find new spirit elements! So BLAH to you!
Hmmmmm, are you still sure about the magical being thing Nintendarse? I think maybe Darunia blows that theory. Of course, he is a Sage, so I could be wrong.

Quote:You have this stick, and you can hit enemies with it... it's fun!
YES! What more could you want?

I love that Nintendarse has only just begun playing Skies and he can already understand. The Moons have given him great wisdom, I think.
I got Gun Valkyrie on the Xbox brand new for only $8.75 and it came with a ten dollar mail-in rebate.

Hastings is teh king of teh cheap games.
Ah, Quest 64, a game I got because I hadn't got a PS1 yet and was starved for an RPG. This is before I heard ANYTHING about any decent news sites online (when you have nothing but cheap arse search engines like Web Crawler and knowledge that nintendo.com is a place, you can't really extend into the net very well).

Kingdom Hearts... Okay, imagine a little Devil May Cry with a little Zelda. You can select magic and abilities via the right stick, which you use to select stuff as you move about. You start out with a very boring set of moves, but soon you expand into having all sorts of strategies, which you will NEED to master. It's linear, but this is the kind of game where that's no biggy. It's a blast from start to finish. Just don't expect to solve many puzzles...
Shit, where did you get Valkyrie for that cheap??
*Two large, square-shouldered Goron goons take Dark Jaguar outside, kicking and screaming.*

DARUNIA: I warned him.

*Outside, the sound of several gun blasts. The goons walk back in; Dark Jaguar is no where to be seen.*
Hastings. They, on occasion, have games [sometimes brand new] for insanely low prices. I have no idea why, but they do.

Once I got New Legends, brand new, for only $5 and then took it too another store and traded it in for $15 in credit! :D
*trips* Hey! Darunia! Been a while since I've seen ya! Playing with action figures again eh? Hey now, I didn't know I had an action figure! Careful there, I imagine an action figure of me would have many small parts you could choke on, and sharp edges.
Darunia doesn't seem to realize that Laser Link is the one who delivered the insult...

*shrugs and eats his apple sauce*
You have apple sauce? Me too! Really! Do you have cinimininninimon in it? That's the best.
*gives DJ appalled and disturbed looks, slowly takes applesauce and moves it away from him*

Doesn't the French way of putting money make much more sense?
I mean how come if I'm saying four dollers I have to put $4, why can't I say 4$, then I think 4 Dollers
I still don't like putting money witht he doller sign first, sometimes I still write down prices with the doller sign last, I failed a Grade 3 math assignemnt once right after I switched to an english school because I put the doller sign last.
I say the Doller sign should be last on everything
The last used game i bought was Zelda for the NES for 10$ US. The best deal I ever got for a used game was the used NES, duck hunt, mario, mario 2, mario 3, duck tales, wwf wrestling, Ghosts and Goblins, Blades of steel and more for FREE
Pff, the French. The dollar sign goes before the number. It's $4.00, not 4.00$.
OB1... if you're really being European, wouldn't that be 4,00$ ? Remember... don't they switch the . and , ? :)
That's so wrong.

And it wasn't meant to be an insult really, just a joke. Sorry if it made you mad Darunia. If I make you angry, you won't name your son after me, and that would ruin everything. :)
