In an effort to stretch the thread out horrizontally, I'll include the full side image. :p

I like the 2.7 billion polys per second figure. Hahahaha! I'm sure this guy just copied the GameCube specs form the Ultimate GameCube FAQ and bumped the numbers a bunch.
That looks awesome!!
Very fake, but very cool-looking. I'd be happy if the next Nintendo console was similar to that in look and specs. But a name change would be a must. Nexus? How about the Nintendo Gallant while we're at it? Or the Nintendo Escapade? Chuckle
Cool... with "detailed" stats, too... :) Yeah, they probably did just up the Cube's numbers.

Um, does it have wireless-only controllers? That wouldn't be nice... I'd rather not deal with batteries. Why would Nintendo do that? :D

And yes, it does sound like a SUV name...
It actually looks like an SUV too though :D. Oh, and the GB/GBA slot... Does it not play GBC games? The slot is an interesting way to go about it indeed.

However, I have a different suggestion...

Regarding the controllers, they should use the same connector plug and pin number as GBA does. That way, you don't need to buy some stupid adapter. Instead, you just use the normal link cable for multi and boom, you got the hook up. I too agree dealing with batteries is a bit of an annoyance. It's why I don't have a wireless mouse actually, and a big complaint I had against the N64 rumble pak (it's tethered to the wall, albeit indirectly, why do I need batteries?!). On that note, the speed of each controller port should be super increased, as should the next GB, so you can have all you need to have a direct uplink of image and sound data to the new console. More importantly, both the new console and new portable should have support for that feature, so you can select the "Game Boy Pileis Connect" feature (just an idea of a weird almost unknown language's word for "new", which I only barely know because the moths in my head told me about it), and then turn on the GB and it would do a very fast search for the system before starting (fast yes, for the connection would be fast now), and boom, you can then easily play all GB games on the new system with no need of weird otherworldly devices).

Maybe the memory card slots would do best to be 4, but then again that's not a must. I will say that with USB slots, there would be the awesomeness that there would be modem support no matter WHAT Nintendo does :D.

They added "II" to pretty much all the publicly named GCN parts eh? :D

Anyway, with all this power, the real gameplay altering stuff is gone from these imaginary specs. Where's the hard drive? I mean, are those disks rewritable? I should think rewritable disks are in fact a very dangerous thing... I mean, they don't last for too many rewrites (my dad often replaces his backup CDRWs, though then again he's always backing up stuff). An HD (replaceble) included should be on there man! So should the online adapter. I know Nintendo doesn't have a plan, but here's the deal, they should just LET other companies make whatever online plans they want until they DO iron out a plan. I don't see the harm in that.

Now I'm raving about the real thing when I should just be having fun here.

Yeah, it does look like an SUV.
Holy shit, that thing looks great. Actually, that thing should be the newer GameCube model. That'd be orgasmic. By the by, Nintendo's next console should have 4 memory card ports, not 2. Dammit. Lousy Nintendo.

Seems really early for people to be making mock-ups already, though... ah well. *embraces GameCube, whispers in its <strike>ear</strike> heat venting duct that it better not go anywhere for a very long time*

I rather like the name Nexus. However you'll probably get your wish. How long were we calling the system "Dolphin" before it was officially announced as "GameCube"?
Just remember that this is 100% fake though...
one thing i just noticed about this mock-up is that it's a rather large machine. using the GBA slot as a reference point, i compared its dimensions to the gamecube, well, actually just it's width, but the GC is 3 GBA catridges wide while the nexus mock up is at least 5...judging from the size of the slot on it...now, it's not a huge deal, but i like the compact nature of the cubeand think that this concept would do better to be smaller.

AND WHERE'S THE HANDLE!?!?!?!? that's the one thing that i thought was silly before the system came out...but now i think all systems should include one because it's so convenient.
