I like lists. So let's list out the games we're looking forward to getting the most this year.

1. Fable - Once was at #1, then dropped down after I read some things about it, then back to #1 again now that I've read more recent impressions. And mostly because I've waited so damn long for the game and it's only a month away. I can barely contain my excitement over this game.

2. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes - Would have been at #1 if MP didn't come out just two years ago. I really can't wait for it, but I'm looking forward to Fable more (even though it may not be a better game) because there's really nothing else like it.

3.Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - The last two games were crazy-fun and I couldn't stop playing them, and this ones looks several times better than GTA 3 and VC combined. Three cities this time (each one the size of VC), and great big highways in between them. And best of all, San Francisco is one of the cities. My favorite city in the U.S.

4. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - I loved the last two games and am really looking forward to this one for both the great (and finally revamped) gameplay and to see what the hell is going to happen in the story. I hope it explains some stuff from MGS2.

5. Halo 2 - I bought an X-Box for Halo and it was a huge disappointment for me. So why do I list this one so high? Because Halo 1 had huge potential but was obviously a rush job, and I'm hoping that Halo 2 will be the game that I wanted the first one to be. Plus, co-op online is going to be incredible no matter what.

6. Prince of Persia 2 - The first game was my second-favorite title of last year (after WW) so naturally I can't wait to play the sequel. The reasons why it isn't higher up on my list is because I'm worried about a few things. Firstly, I don't like the generic dark direction they've taken with this game (most likely to garner better sales this time around). I loved the ICO-like quality of the last game, and I hate it when developers decide to make sequels more dark and "extreme" at the expense of charm and uniqueness. Secondly, I'm worried that it will become more of a DMC-style action game and less of an acrobatic-puzzler like the first one. So those are my two major worries with the sequel.

7. Paper Mario 2 - The first game is one of my all-time favorite RPGs and I can't wait to play this one. I've stayed away from previews as I want to be surprised, so all I can say is that I know it's going to kick ass.

8. Pikmin 2 - I liked the first game but the damn timer ruined the exploration aspect of it. Thankfully the sequel removes that annoying feature and adds a cool-looking multiplayer mode. This is going to be great.

9. Half-life 2 - Liked the first one, and the sequel looks really nice.

10. Gran Turismo 4 - Best street racing series, now online and as an extra-cool aspect (for me), Hong Kong is among the many cities in the game.
Alright, here's my list [in no particular order]:

Fable: From everything I've heard about it how could I not put it on my list? It's been a long time coming, but if it lives up to the hype it'll be one amazing game.

Metroid Prime 2 Echoes: It's Retro. It's Metroid. Loved the first and I'm sure I'll love the second.

Halo 2: While I'm not a big fan of Halo, it did have the foundations for a great FPS. If Bungie can put some more time into fleshing out and polishing this sequel it'll be a great game.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas: I've had a ton of fun with the previous two and this one appears to expand upon what they did and more. A definite must-have.

Pikmin 2: With the elimation of the time limit Pikmin 2 looks like it'll be even more fun than the first.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Metal Gear Solid 2 is one my favorite PS2 games and I had a blast playing it, so of course I'm interested in the sequel.

Paper Mario 2: There's no explanation necessary really.

Star Ocean 3: The soon to be released sequel to one of the best RPGs on the Playstation. If it lives up to the standard set by the first the sequel could be one of the best RPGs on the PS2.

Baten Kaitos: The story sounds interesting and using cards in a turn-based RPG is at least a somewhat original idea. Also it's made by the same company that made Xenosaga and it seems to have been well received in Japan.

And that's my list.
Order... order is hard... here's some games though. :) Only games that aren't out yet, of course. Lists like this are really hard, actually. I don't really know what is coming out this year... some of these sure won't...

-Rome: Total War

-Dreamfall: The Longest Journey

-KOTOR 2

-NWN 2 (if a 2005 game can be on this list)

-Paper Mario 2

-Metroid Prime 2

-Sid Meier's Pirates!

-Conquest 2 (a ways off)

... what else is coming out for Cube? Um... Baten Kaitos... Star Fox? Unity, maybe? Mario Pinball Land for GBA...

Other games that could or could not be of interest (for pc)... Vampire: Bloodlines, TMNT 2, Evil Genious, Axis & Allies, Tribes: Vengeance...

I'm sure I'm missing some stuff, especially for ngc and gba.

... look what I ran acrosss...click
Yeah I made a thread on that a long time ago. I bet the game will suck, just because of the name! :D

And why is KOTOR 2 on your list if you don't even have the first game (or do you?)?
... because I trust Bioware, and Obsidian, to make great games, and haven't seen a bad one developed by either team yet... :)

Oh yeah, and I was at the mall today. I got KOTOR ($20). And three games at EB, they have a 'buy two preowned games get one free' deal running... so I got Star Fox Adventures ($15), Body Harvest, and Lego Drome Racers (PC; by the team that made Rollcage) (each $4... or rather, each $2...). So now I do have KOTOR. Haven't played it yet though. :)
You have to beat KOTOR before you get the sequel.
I know, but the sequel is some months off... :)
So... don't spend money on the sequel until you beat the first game. And it'll be cheaper by then as well. You don't make any sense.
I beat KOTOR a long time ago.
OB1, this is a 'most wanted' list. Not a 'I am buying these today' list, a 'most wanted' list...
Fine, I'll let it slide.... :brow: this time.
Next time we won't though. So you remember that.
Yeah you remember that goood.
Now that I've removed de-ruinized this thread, let's get back to the original subject.

Anyone here plan on getting Mario Tennis since it looks like it'll be released in the US this year?
1. Conker Live and Reloaded (Xbox)
2. Jade Empire (Xbox)(haven't played it yet)
3. Grandia 3 (PS2)
4. Final Fantasy XII
5. Kingdom Hearts 2
6. Half-Life 2 (Xbox)
I just realized that I own every game that I put on my list except one: San Andreas.
Of my list, the only one I own now is Pirates!... wait, and Tribes: Vengeance. And I came close to getting either Paper Mario 2 or Baten Kaitos, but could only get one and got Tales of Symphonia instead.

Though three of them (NWN 2, Dreamfall, and Conquest 2) aren't out yet, and Unity got cancelled...
Right now, I want Star Fox Assault and... what other games have come out recently? Yeah, I need a DS and a PSP before I can get any games for those two handhelds.

Damn, I already own most of the games I want. It's depressing, being able to go into a video game store, look around a tiny bit, get bored, and leave without buying anything. I never used to do that. Once I bought a Gamecube, that ceased temporarily.
I feel the same way, Geno. I used to be able to go into a game store and see all kinds of games that I really wanted, and usually got one everytime I went. Now, though, I don't really see many games I want and hardly ever buy any. Maybe I'm just more finicky about the games I buy now than then.
I always see things I want... but it is often among the used games.
