It's that time of the year again, kids!

Last E3 we all knew what to expect from Nintendo, but this year Nintendo hasn't announced any major fall/winter titles, so I expect a lot of surprises. As Fran said in a recent Insider mailbag, what has the Luigi's Mansion team been up to? What about the Wind Waker team? The Mario Sunshine team? Here's what I expect to find:

-Pikmin 2. This has been hinted at for so long and I just know that Nintendo will show it at this year's E3. possibility: 80%

-Mario Kart. FMV of this game was shown eons ago at Spaceworld, so I expect to hear and see something about it at E3. It could also be Nintendo's big online title, if they're smart enough to do something about it. possibility: 80%

-Animal Crossing 2/Online. The game has already been confirmed, and all Nintendo needs to do to make it a huge seller is add an online mode and make a few enhancements. possibility: 80%

-New Factor 5 game. I hope they don't wait until E3 to show it, but whatever the case is I'm sure we'll hear about it by then. What will it be? Rogue Leader 2? I'm sure it'll be Star Wars something.possibility: 99%

-Too Human/New Silicon Knights game. Rumor has it that Too Human has been scrapped in favor of another project, but I sincerely hope that's not true. ED didn't sell very well but it would probably be easy to make a sequel to it, so perhaps we'll get another one. I'm hoping for either Too Human or an original title. possibility: 70%

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen: Finally Legal!! "You know you want this game! From the creators of BMX XXX comes a new kind of Olsen Twins game, and we can do whatever we want to now that they're of legal age. This is gonna be off tha' hook!!" possibility: 0.00%
I have a feeling we'll get a Mario Kart announcement before E3, and it will be playable at E3. Nintendo said they would be showing it early 2003, and even though they made that statement over a year ago, I'm still holding them to it!

Also, I imagine the Pokémon game will be there. Will that be a Joy-ful thing? Sorry, bad Pokémon pun. Happinasu!

I think Pikmin will be there, and maybe the Mario sequel.

Oh, and I'm almost certain Zelda will be there. But I'm talking about Wind Waker, unfortuantely. They'll have a couple WInd Waker demos hidden around there, just in case any journalists missed it.

Who knows what else. Maybe those rumored Nintendo and Sega network games. I don't know why Nintendo would push that instead of true online games, but it's a start.

Oh, and I'm sure the new Factor 5 game will be there, like OB1 said. I don't think Silicon Knight's new game will be on display though.

Oh, and Hal will have a new game. Hopefully Earthbound, but I bet it will be a SSBM sequel.
We already have an E3 thread, you bum.
Dude, we are starving for threads here. And this one is about E3 predictions.
Hmm... E3 predictions...

Well, Nintendo will announce some new games. Given that the schedule for the second half of the year is pretty empty except for a couple of games, they've really got to... Animal Crossing 2 (hopefully online, but I wouldn't expect it), Mario Kart (same regarding online), Pikmin 2, and Pokemon are pretty safe bets... as well as F-Zero, Wario World, and Zelda Wind Waker.

Other than that, I wouldn't expect a Silicon Knights announcement, but Factor 5 does sound more likely... it's been a while since Rogue Squadron 2, after all. And yes, something Star Wars is a pretty good guess. A HAL announcement sounds good too, but as to what it will be, I have no idea... and other than that? Probably some new first party games we haven't heard of, and maybe some more stuff...

Maybe Intellent Systems will announce a NGC title... we might also hear about those other elusive 2nd party titles from Camelot, etc. I hope.

I wish there would be a big online announcement but do NOT expect it. I would expect announcement of linkable games (System Link via broadband adapters...), because that would be easy to do, but a real online network? Probably not... Nintendo has been too resistant. Idiots.
I'd expect to see a new SK game more than I'd expect to see a new Mario game. And Pokemon? Eh. I know that Nintendo isn't going to make a cool Gamecube Pokemon RPG, so I don't really care. I'm sick of all of their tie-in crap.
I wanna see a new Mario Kart game... along with Mario Tennis and Mario Golf (remember them?). More of 1080 and the upcoming Capcom titles shall be lovely. Most of all, I look forward to see what the hell Silicon Knights is working on.

Oh, and I hope Nintendo discloses a more vivid update of their online plans...... hahahahaahaha!!!11 Drunk Drunk :joysitck:

...:(

[EDIT]: Are you aware that the joystick smiley's code is:joysitck? Goodness me...
Ahh yes, it will be good to see if IS is working on anything. Maybe they will announce on a Fusion sequel. And Camelot should have something. How long does it take to make Mario Tennis/Golf?!?!
How many people work at IS? Do they have seperate GBA and GC teams or can they only work on one game at a time? I wonder.

I'd love to see a Cube Wars or GC Fire Emblem game from them. Mmmmm...
Interesting question. I don't know, and since they are already working on Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, and possibly the GC Fire Emblem, maybe we shouldn't expect more from them.

And for those of you who don't read N-Query: Matt said SK IS currently working on Too Human in addition to another project. Like you guys, I was under the impression they were not working on Too Human. He also said to expect something before E3.
Yup! Great to hear!
*improvised, shitty tap dance of joy*

Whooo!!
The following are probabilities. As always, these are my perceptions. The first is the probability that it will show up at the show (video or playable), the second is that it will be playable at the show.

Nintendo:
Mario Kart 90% in some form-75% playable
Pokemon Stadium-90% in some form-55% playable
Pikmin2-95% in some form-50% playable
Animal Crossing 2-70% in some form-30% playable
Mario 128-30% in some form-10% playable
Animal Crossing Online-3% in some form-1% playable

Second Parties:
Factor 5 game-95% in some form-70% playable
Silicon Knights game-90% in some form-30% playable
Metroid Prime 2(Retro)-1% in some form other than acknowledgement of its existence-.0001% playable
Mario Golf(Camelot)-95% in some form-75% playable
Mario Tennis(Camelot)-95% in some form-75% playable
Golden Sun GCN(Camelot)-40% in some form-15% playable
Wario World(Treasure)-99.999% in some form-99.999% playable
1080(NST)-60% in some form-30% playable

Capcom:
Viewtiful Joe-99.999% in some form-99.999% playable

Namco:
Soul Calibre II-99% in some form-98% playable
Star Fox Armada-95% in some form-80% playable
RPG-35% in some form-25% playable

Sega:
F-Zero-99.999% in some form-99.999% playable
Sonic DX-99% in some form-95% playable
NEW Sonic-99% in some form-75% playable

I have to admit that, without some help from a secret title, a Capcom biggie, or a huge Mario Kart showing, Nintendo's lineup looks kind of flakie. Nintendo's ability to make a huge splash will be determined by it's ability to find a big game and make it huge. F-Zero and Star Fox are high-quality games, but they're not Mario or Zelda (and yet even Mario and Zelda haven't been Mario and Zelda). I think Nintendo can make Mario Kart it's biggie if the game truly has the guts behind it, and if it's ready to show. Judging only by Matt's description of Factor 5's veiled game in N-Query, this title also has the possibility of jumping out of nowhere and frontlining Nintendo's show. It will be shown off before E3, so it'll definately be at E3...but we don't know in what capacity. Factor 5 has an amazing track record when it comes to production speed (Rogue Leader-10 months), so that's what is propping up that 70% playability percentage. Granted, Factor 5 isn't technically 2nd party, but it's the closest thing a 3rd party developer can be to 2nd partidom. Why are the 1080 percentages so low? Reliable rumor states that NST has gone back to the drawing board with this game after decidedly mediocre experiences with the game at cube clubs. It has fallen off of NOA's first half schedule, which is somewhat of a confirmation of this rumor. I'm wondering whether the game will be shown at all after the latest stumbling block.

*faints*
I'll bet one American dollar that Retro will tell us they have multiple projects in the works and maybe even show something of them. I also think Nintendo will talk about an online campaign but probably not announce it. I also have a feeling that EAD and Miyamoto will talk about the Zelda: Wind Waker ALOT and give small (read: vague) hints about the new Mario and Zelda games (which could be handled by a 2nd party...), and most likely show off the new Starfox: Armada game. It might be playable but I kinda doubt it since they have so many other playable demos at their disposal but a presentation should be there.

Capcom would be wise to show off their games in playable forms.

I expect this E3 to be a graphics fest.
I dont foresee any more Pikimins, and speaking historically, we'll probably see some weird, creative new incarnation of Mario, but not another platformer. I hope we will see another Mario Kart, though....

I'm just put out we'll NEVER SEE ANY MORE FROM RARE!!!
Quote:I dont foresee any more Pikimins

You mean, after the one that's been mentioned by Shiggy/probably announced...? Confused
I'm sure there will be some big surprises from Nintendo at the show. I hope.
If there aren't, Nintendo's E3 probably won't be that great... they need big games for 2nd half '03!
Well like I said before, there are several Nintendo teams that don't have any known projects in development, so we should get some big surprises.
Or some big disappointments...
Hey! It's DJ's job to be cynical and pessimistic, not yours!
I thought I was supposed to be pessimistic...

Anyway, why would you be here? E3 is so far away that its kind of early to be saying that it might be dissapointing... not when Nintendo has so much potential to make a good show... between all the 2nd party (and prospective first party) announcements, I can see Nintendo having a very good show. As long as things go well and they announce the games we want to see... :)
i hope harvest moon shows up playable at E3. i love harvest moon.

and this is a big fatty pipe dream, but i'd love it if enix showed off ogre battle 4 for the nintendo gamecube. but what are the bloody odds of that? and yeah ogre battle's made by quest, but they were bought by square who was bought by enix...so, in case anyone was confused...that's where i'm coming from.

ogre battle is such a great series. i'm severely disappointed that it may not show up on nintendo consoles anymore. when square bought quest i thought there was still hope for the series to be on gamecube...since it's historically shown up on nintendo platforms. so square could let quest make ogre battle games for the GC and nintendo would let square make GBA games and everyone would be happy. then enix bought square and enix doesn't seem to like to put games out on nintendo systems...so i think that OB4 will be on PS2 if anything.
Yeah well, we got the 64th game in the series, so I'm not complaining! :D

I prefer OB1 myself. Good game.
man, i love that 64th entry in the series.

also, i know this is a predictions thread, but i'm using it as my wish list, get over it :p

anyway, my next game wish, and it's been stated before over and over, but Mario RPG 3...or paper mario 3 or somethig to that effect. those're some great games.

i also want to see what zoonami's been working on. i really hope it's a JFG style game. i think the GC controller would work perfectly to help iron out the often complained about control issues with the first game (although, strangely, i never had a problem with them.) although this is just me being silly, the JFG team is still with Rare, or should i now call them what they are...MICROSOFT. Drunk oh man, i don't know what came over there......................

anyway, i guess i don't know that all of them are there, but there haven't been reportings of large numbers of the JFG team leaving...that and Zoonami was founded by the lead designer guy on PD and goldeneye...so it might be a kickass FPS. although that game description that was "leaked" made it seem, from the few bits not blacked out, that they may be working on a platformer.

whatever it is i hope it makes some type of showing at E3...and i think it will.
