As a completely shallow, graphics-awed asshole who seems to be incapable of any sort of critical thinking, relying solely on the pretty world I see, I gotta say... I WANT SCREENSHOTS.

Whatever happened to Fay Wray?
I would prefer Retro to be working on an original franchise, but whatever, this is still great.
Me too, Hudson... I want to see them work on an original RPG or adventure game.

Makes me wonder, though... what the hell is Silicon Knights up to these days?
What are you insane? Their other projects were stupid truck racing games and Dungeons and Dragons rip-offs. With the guidance of NCL they made one of the greatest video games ever created, and that was on their first try!

SO YOU TAKE THAT BACK!! I want my Metroid, damnit! I had to wait eight years for a new Metroid game, and I really don't want to wait that long again! So you can take your stupid truck and D&D games and shove them up your ass!!! :cuss:

*wipes sweat off forehead*

Phew!
i would like to see raven blade. D&D ripoffs aren't necessarily bad things...neverwinter knights is a fairly enjoyable game, and it even lists off the dice rolls. i dunno, i think a nice RPG from them could be really cool...and original RPG that is.

i really think silicon knights is working on that one RPG...Too Human, was it? at least that's where i'd put all my money, which is less than $5 mind you. i'm sure we'll be seeing screenshots of their next game in the coming months...no later than E3 i'm sure. who knows, it may even be playable at E3...

metroid 2 should be cool.
OBQuiet: You've got your Metroid... now stfu. Unless this sequel holds substantial changes from Prime, I won't be all that interested.

big guy: I'd like to think that, too, but it seems like game companies have this trend of showing a game to the public, then shelving it in favor of another more important project, and never looking back.

Too Human sounded awesome, though... I'd love to here on its status.
Raven Blade looked cool... so did that car combat game. Since they just made Metroid, I would like to see them branch out... but it looks like it'll be Metroid Prime 2 instead. It'll probably be a great game, but still, I would like to see some other games from them... and D&D-ish RPGs and racing/car combat games are fun. Especially if they would be at the quality level of Metoid Prime... too bad both games were cancelled. Now that Prime's been proven to be so good, maybe they can work on more than one game again.
Maybe they'll start hiring more people or putting current employees into new teams and start making some other games while the new Metroid is development. Or maybe they'll just work on one game at a time. Either was we get another Metroid game and that fine with me.
Screw Raven Blade! I want more Metroid, damnit! And I'll fight anyone who challenges it!
What are you going to do, drive halfway across the country? :)

I'd definitely prefer Raven Blade to Metroid Prime 2.
Maybe I will!

There is no way in hell that Raven Blade could be anywhere near as good as Metroid Prime. Without the restrictions of having to make a Metroid title faithful to past games in the series along with NCL's guidance, Prime wouldn't have been as good of a game. As the saying goes, "Art is born in restraint and dies in freedom".

Of course I'd love to see them make something else, but not if it means having to wait six-to-eight years for a new Metroid game. Nintendo is still making up for the last eight years of non-Metroidness.

Hopefully they'll hire more employees so that they can work on more than one project at a time.
and with the basic engine in place for a new metroid game, i'm sure team doesn't really NEED to be as big as it was...so maybe they could work on new games and metroid 2 at the same time.

also, about too human, it does seem like they cancelled it in favor of a bigger project...but then again you had them saying things like "we never cancel a project..." when questioned about too human. not to mention that the PSX version was very far along when they went Nintendo only. so i think that they are working on it...but they are doing a very significant overhaul...taking it from a PSX game to a mind blowing next gen game. i do think we'll see it...and if we don't see it exactly, we should at least see what they are up to at E3.
Silicon Knights? They probably are working on Too Human... we know pretty much nothing about what they're doing, but that's the best guess...

It was more than just 'make it like the old ones' that made Metroid Prime good. It was just a great game from clearly good developers... I have no doubt that another different game from them would be at least almost as good. Especially now, with Prime under their belts...

And yeah, with the MP engine already there the sequel could possibly be done with a smaller team, provding they use it again... which seems likely.
Of course it wasn't just "make it like the old ones", but they were restricted by that. Super Metroid's gameplay is flawless and they had to find a way to effectively translate that into three dimensions, which they did. If they were making say, Quakturok or something like that I seriously doubt it could have come close to the brilliance of Metroid Prime.
