If I had have known about this, perhaps I wouldn't have been so much more in favor of Cloud getting with Tifa rather than Aeris when I played the game!
I always get the Cloud/Aeris scenario when I play FF7. :)

Though I have nothing against Tifa. God I wish she was real...

...what? Don't pretend you haven't wished for the same thing!

I haven't, Tifa looks like a slut with a bunch of silicone in her chest, not really that apealing to me, where Aeirs is a nice, intelligent, cute girl.
But Tifa can kick ass , So she can protect you! :D

Aeirs got killed with one hit!
Aeris has lots of healing stuff, though.

I always liked Yuffie, actually. Except for that time she stole all your materia, I was pretty mad when that happened.
When you get down to it, RPGs have four base classes: Fighter, Cleric, Mage, and Theif...
Yeah, that's been the standard for a long time.
Since the beginning of the genre, I'd say (pen & paper games were first, right?)... The balanced party has one of each. For many console RPGs (especially newer ones) it's diluted because more characters have abilities in multiple categories, but you still need someone who can heal, someone to do magic, etc... console RPGs don't really seem to use theives though (unlike PC ones which often have them for trap detection, unlocking locked doors, etc -- never play a D&D game without a theif and a cleric or druid!)...

You could make do without a mage, but I think spells are cool so I like to have several of them in my party. :)
In Star Ocean 2 it was best to have 3 fighters and one cleric, instead of trying to balance things with 2 fighters, 1 mage, and 1 cleric. This was because of the battle system which favored quick attacks.

In most turn-based RPGs though it's best to have a balanced party.
In D&D party-based games it's pretty clear... you need a theif for unlocking doors and chests and finding and disarming traps. You need a cleric or druid to heal (and, if you're playing a level 8/9+ party, a cleric specifically because druids don't get Ressurection...). You need fighters or fighter-types to be on the front line. And, like with Clerics, when you get to higher-level play (7, 8, etc), you need a Mage -- otherwise you'll have major problems with spell protections (that is, spells that mages cast on themselves that do things like make them harder to hit, or invulnerable to normal (or even enchanted) weapons, etc... without spells to break those it can be a MAJOR pain to kill mages despite their low health...

The other way (party-based RPG) games go is to not give you much choice -- like Skies of Arcadia. Or, for PC RPGs, Torment. I mean when most of your party is pretty much set for the game (not just the main character or something). You get a couple of choices, sure, but most of the time you'll have the same parties if you did replay the game. That makes things a lot simpler, but restricts what you can do... but if it allows for a tighter story it can work fine. Torment even barely allows for customization of any party members, even the main character, but it allows for it to do more storytelling than most PC RPGs (where typically the main character is created by the player), so it works great...

But it is a good question. Set the characters you can play as more, and increase storytelling with them, or allow for more customization but make the necessary sacrifices you'll have to make in story (particularly inter-character relations)... I think probably the best way to deal with it is to make some games one way and others the other. Black Isle sure did go from one extreme to the other with Torment and then Icewind Dale...

You have something against sluts? Drunk

But I agree with you that Aeris is better. I don't care for Yuffie though. Stupid bitch stole my Materia. She should've been the one at the end of Sephiroth's Masamune.
Those pics don't work.
Then click the "link"... it's not very hard...
I already did, I was just pointing out the fact that the pics you posted do not, as should now be obvious, work.
They do if you click the link first, then reload this page. :)
:shake:
... it's true!
:shake:
I feel so terrible that you had to click that link, it must have been an extremely hard and traumatic experience to deal with...
You should fix that post. Those red X's could give people seizures.
Nah, I use Mozilla. Broken images just don't show up. No red Xes here... :)
Well, aren't you special?
I use Netscape, so broken images show up as these... weird icons of what appears to be torn paper.
I used Netscape 7 for quite some time and I seem to recall it also showing non-working images as nothing at all...

Tifa is rather cute. ^__^;;
Bubsy??
Yes, I am Bubsy. Nice to meet you, OB1. *hand shake*
Welcome Bubsy (I remember that cat and those games... only liked the first one).

:cow:
Nice to meet you too, Dark Jaguar. *hand shake*
*hand shake* *succesful* *authenticating....* *Success!* *Welcome to World of Warcraft!*
Welcome to the forums, Bubsy.
Yay! We've finally got another newbie! Or...it could be an imposter! Expose your truths, Bubsy!!!

Well...okay then. *hand shake*
Nice to meet you as well. *Bubsy holds out his paw and shakes Great Rumbler's hand*

Oh my God, a furry. <img src="http://www.sighost.us/members/jay803/emotv.gif">
So you really like Bubsy, eh?
Weee! [Image: emotv.gif]

It's not my favorite game of all time, but I do like it still. I just wanted to come up with a unique screen name.

:mariowin:
It's better than something dumb like "superchick589". Seriously, I can't stand people who have names like that, there's absolutely no originality in that name except for the fact that you picked a number slightly higher than 587 other people. *is irrationally angry*
Yeah, I agree. I hate seeing people with screen names like "HotBaby4U" or "Sk8erBoi91." Oooh, how original. :gay:
Yah, because no-one ever uses videogame characters names on videogame message boards..

You're right, because I'm certainly not doing that. Haha
Private Hudson Wrote:Yah, because no-one ever uses videogame characters names on videogame message boards..

A-ha! I'm original because I used an album name and...

...and...

...I'm sorry. I'll go now.
GR, your sig is dead...

Anyway, I remember Bubsy. I think I remember it feeling a lot like the 7-up platformer game.
Yeah, I know. Boomspeed is down at the moment.

All admins can do that. And we have like eight admins. :)

*checks* Yup, you've used one IP and you're the only one to have used it. So either you go to great lengths to hide your true identity or you're really new... (new people not drawn here by someone else here aren't too common in these parts you know). :)

*checks self* Wow, I must have 350 IPs on that list... :D

I actually told him about this board. I met him on a South Park board.
