82 - Anime Appreciation Week, Day 2
Out, evil one! And take your Dragon Ball with you! :)
Poor LL...
But it really is his own fault for thinking that DBZ is cool.
Well most of us went through out DBZ-liking periods (and then we saw more than just a handful of episodes and realized how utterly pointless and dumb it is), so maybe he's just a late starter.
That's true.
I disliked Dragon Ball from the first time I ever saw it... :)
You dislike just about everything.
Are you trying to say that Dragon Ball has worthwhile qualities? Erm
I'm just saying that you hate most stuff.
Well actually it's a fun little thing, but hardly deep or compelling in any way. It's like Ninja Turtles really. You eventually realize exactly what you're watching, but if you are having fun at the time it doesn't really matter. I mean even now I still... partake... I mean, being really really really powerful is a fighting strategy of a sort... I suppose it's like watching bad action movies (which far outnumber the good ones and you all know it, but that goes for movies in general). Sure they suck, but sometimes people can enjoy it anyway. Anyway, it's always fun to see the previously invincible villian get totally smacked around with no mercy.... right?.... right? That freeza guy, or girl, or whatever, was just so fun to hate.
I sucks because everytime they fight they're using their energy to it's fullest but they still manage to get that one last drop of enegery that's enough to defeat the bad guy and no matter how many times main characters die they always bring them back with the Dragon Balls. Lame. I mean why don't they just get the Dragon Balls and wish for ultimate power to beat the bad guys or that the bad guys will all die if they attack Earth? Double-lame. And there's the fact that the series consists of 20 episodes of them getting ready for the fight and then 20 fights that are exactly the same but take up an episode each. Triple-lame.
Well yeah :D, that's why it gets old fast, well not fast, in 40 episodes when you figure it out.

And oh yes, those Dragon Balls (and I can't believe I'm actually debating why some character does or doesn't do something in this show) aren't the triforce. They can't do EVERYTHING, they can only affect beings less powerful than the dragon it seems, and so the dragon can't kill Dexter's very greatest invention or whatever just attacked Earth.

On that note, the Triforce is the ULTIMATE wishing thing! Forget fairies that grant one little wish and then run away, or leprecauns that will ONLY give you gold or MAYBE a visit to the green hills of ireland. Genies are fine if you have the ones for life, but they can't kill or bring anyone back to life, or cure fatal illnesses, and a bunch of other little weaknesses. The dragon balls are fine if you don't mind hunting for them every frickin' year, but they can only bring one person back at a time, and they can't affect anything stronger than they are (which in that world is pretty much everything) and they can't bring anyone back to life if it's been over a year, and some of them will make THE VERY EARTH EXPLODE (what a plot device...), and others need a special language or whatever... The Triforce however is frickin' AWESOME! All together, it can bring everyone back, affect people's minds, completely change a world, destroy anything it wants regardless of power, and so on! Look at what Link did with it during the end of LTTP! Now you're playing with POWER! Even a PIECE of it is completely awesome! The part of power gives you enough power to overcome ANY enemy with a single wish (such as Ganon constantly reforming himself into more and more powerful enemies) the part of wisdom allows one to see through any puzzle and various other knowledge and intelligence related things, such as Zelda knowing pretty much EXACTLY what to do at ALL times at the end of the game, and the piece of courage gives one the ability to take on ANY challenge, no matter how tough, and come out victorious, even if the challenge is ridiculously more powerful and is running around inside a flame wall smashing through walls to get to you... AAARGH my spleen! Always the SPLEEN! The ONLY way to ever actually go against the triforce is with other things made using the power of the triforce, such as the master sword. Use that fighter's sword on Ganon in LTTP and you'll just find yourself hitting Ganon with a fish. Also, the moon pearl seems to have some ancient origins related to the Triforce of the Gods.
