Just in case no one's heard it yet...it looks really cool. An SNES-like OoT!

The project is very old news, it was started months ago. This website is a bit newer, I only saw it last week... and yes it is cool.
That is pretty cool. I bet recreating the dungeons will be pretty tough though, as many of the puzzles related directly to the whole 3Dness of it all. I don't know about the legality of it all, but still pretty cool.
"many"? No, I disagree... most would do just fine in 2d. All the archery ones would be significantly easier, of course, but most would work fine...
What about the Water Temple, where the player has to keep shifting from different floors and changing the water level? I imagine that'll be tricky...
There was a level in one of the Oracle games that reminded me a lot of the Water Temple in OoT so it can be done.
You could do each floor and the water but the swimming would have to be different...
I want to see someone remake LA in 3D.
That would be awesome... but 2d-3d would be a bigger challenge. The whole gameplay idea would have to change, largely because of scale, I think...

The Water Temple is the most evil creation ever spawned by Nintendo. I loathed that level every time I played OoT.

I imagine it would be possible, rather than have it full 3D, have it seperate floors that change with the water level. Remove the Iron Boots to move to the floor where the water is, and put them on to sink to the bottom floor.

Now the Hookshot targeting...that'd be tricky.
I liked the Water Temple... it was hard, yes, definitely, but (IMO) it was a fun hard. Now the Forest Temple... THAT to me was the unfun-hard temple.
The Forest Temple? What did you think was so hard about that? That was one of my favorite temples in the game (although I loved almost all of them) and it had the creepiest music. I haven't played OoT in a while, but I don't recall having much trouble with the Forest Temple.
It was my least favorite Temple... probably my least favorite dungeon. Jabu-Jabu's belly wasn't as annoying. It was just hard... and irritating... and it felt long... and the level's look isn't that great. Boring forest. Oh, I found it confusing too. Easier now, definitely, and more fun, but the first time was a real chore... and it's still one of my less favorite dungeons. The Water Temple was indeed harder but it was just more fun to be in...

And when I finally got through it Phantom Ganon is like the most evil boss ever without looking up how to beat him. Of course that's probably better than the insanely easy boss of the Water Temple, but oh well. Phantom Ganon was just too hard.
Wuss. Forest Temple is my favorite. It's so atmospheric, and it's difficult. But the Water Temple... it's hard because it's so damned repetitive. It was not fun the first time. Oddly, the Master Quest version was a lot easier.

The hardest temple for me is Spirit Temple in MQ. I still can't beat it. There's a key somewhere and I don't have a damn clue where it is. I have the mirror shield and Boss Key, and there's only one door that's still locked (in the room with the four Beamos), but I cannot find the key for it.
Scratch that... I got a burst of inspiration, played some more and found the key. You know, I've beaten OOT several times, played it for three years, and until now I never knew treasure chests were visible on the map. I never once paid it any mind... and if not for that, I'd have never found this key.

Now to take down Ganon... and to play again, with three hearts.
I thought the Forest Temple was pretty easy. I love that dungeon.

I didn't know about the key that's actually outside of the temple. If not for that, I'd have made it through much faster.
Right. Speaking of which, I really need to finish Master Quest...
There's no key outside the temple... Wait, do you mean that first room that kinda looks outsidish, sorta?

I'll try it out but I'm not entirely sure of this. I WILL say I have no qualms in getting this myself, as I don't think downloading this in and of itself is illegal (or has even been called into question) on the same grounds as owning a copy of the later found to be illegal Tengen Tetris isn't illegal, just being a part of the group who made it. I did get the Tierra remake of King's Quest 2, and found it VERY good. It was to the original what Sword of Mana is to Final Fantasy Adventure, that is, a total remake down to the story itself.

Yeah... it's not outside the Temple, per se, but it is before you actually enter its door.
as long as this guy doesn't sell this remake and just releases it for free, i think it's all peachy legal.
