Yeah, that does not look good... except for the CG.

Yeah, I saw this earlier and was meaning to post it. There's probably very little chance I'm seeing this one unless it somehow turns out to be really good. The CG is excellent, but I just don't see how it can be a good movie.

I weep for my dying childhood :(
But hey, while you're there... SHREK 2.

Eh, Garfield's funny, but it's only an average comic.
I do not want to see this movie.
On another note, Weltall, I bought Bag of Bones today, but I make give it away as a Christmas gift. How good is it?

Hmm...that looks really, really bad. Except the CG.

My only question is, why in the world isn't Odie CG too?

It starts a bit slow, it takes about 140 pages or so to get into the meat of it (when Mike meets Mattie and Kyra) but that part of it is told so well. And, without spoiling it, there is a part in the last quarter of the book that is very unexpected and extremely moving, all the more so because the character development is top-notch. There is a ghost story behind it all, but honestly I found it to be secondary to the plot, unusual for a King book.
It is second only to "The Shining" as my favorite book that I've ever read. I'm currently giving it a third read, and it's been better every time.

Great, thanks. I've read The Shining too, and well an extremely well written and excellent novel, it's not as good as 51% of the Chrichton works.
Ha, maybe we should make another thread about this?

I weep.
They seem to be forgetting that Jon has a stamp collection and considers the Nerd Hall of Fame to be "hallowed ground". Hollywood wonderboy he is not. And Garfield is moving way too much. The cat is lazy. That's the entire point of the cartoon.

Did you see Brecken Meyer in the trailer? I agree, based on his past roles, that he doesn't seem right for the part of Jon, but maybe he'll surprise everyone and pull it off decently. Bill Murray is a good fit for Garfield, though, seeing as how the other guy who did the voice in the cartoon is dead.
This movie still looks like it'll blow, though.

Garfeild was the only reason I loved cats.:(

Yeah, that does look bad. It's nothing like Garfield. :(
I am happy to see that Shrek 2 is coming out soon. I had no idea when it would be. That's one of my favorite movies ever. I can't wait!

HIGHEST BLASPHEMY! Garfield has been DESPOILED! The cartoon had it's moment, but this? Maybe if the movie had NOTHING from this trailer it could end up good.
Seriously, Odie is supposed to be an idiot (well, seems they got that right), Jon is supposed to be a looser, and Garfield is supposed to be LAZY! LAZY PEOPLE! They need to have him sleep for a good 5 minutes solid! Now THAT'S comedy! Not because of an inherent quality of the joke itself, but watching OTHER people get offended by it.

Yeah, he doesn't look too lazy, does he? And I think Odie as a real dog looks dumb.
