IGN has hands-on impressions of Viewtiful Joe and tons of new movies, plus a new trailer of PN03. Viewtiful Joe sounds even better than I thought it would be. Matt says it is an absolute blast to play and is now one of his most anticipated games. I can't say I'm as excited about PN03 after watching the new video, because it just doesn't seem to work. Watch it and I think you'll understand. But there is still a lot of time before it is released, so maybe they'll make it fit together better.

The bad news, however, is that Capcom is now saying on RE4 is GameCube exclusive, and Viewtiful Joe, PN03, Dead Phoenix, and Killer 7 may end up on other consoles eventually.
Those bastards. :cuss:
Owch... last we heard, they were all Cube exclusives. It'll hurt Nintendo if/when those games go to other systems. Oh well... they are third party, so ports to other systems are usually pretty common.
Anyway, both of those games look very good...
Why doesn't Nintendo just buy Capcom?

If only it were that easy, huh? Maybe I should buy Capcom!
No kidding, Nintendo should just go ahead and buy Capcom before MS decides opens up their Coffers O' Evil.
Wow, PNO3 looks so fruity. I LOVEEEEEEEE the character design and the look of the game, but damn that game looks horrible now (gameplay wise). I can see what Capcom is trying to do, but it isn't working for me because of a couple of reasons. First off, the girl's movements look odd. You see the way she was bobbing her head? The dance moves are SOOOOOOOOOOO gay. What in the hell is up with that move where she puts her head back and stretches her arms out? Is she fuckin figure skating or something? Horrible. One other thing that I think looks bad is the combo meter on the right upper corner. It reminds me of DMC, and I hated that and the mission based stuff in the game (pray that PNO3 isn't mission based). I think the game needs some better looking levels. Maybe they should add blinking lights and stuff to make it feel trance like. Hopefully the soundtrack is good...
You want blinking lights? I love the look of the game. It's so... clean.
Why the hell is she dancing all of the time?
While it is kind of odd how she 'dances' everywhere, the game still looks pretty good... I don't know, it just looks cool. Though the moves do look kind of strange, it still looks like a good action game...
As for Viewtiful Joe, it looks like a good platformer with an intresting fighting system, but not too complex... like a good platformer should be. Capcom should know... they make more platformers than most anyone at this point...

That's not bad news.

I just need some clarification on what you said about RE4 LL. I don't get what "is now saying on RE4 is gamecube exclusive, and..." is supposed to mean. Did you mean to say that "while RE4 is still exclusive, the other titles will eventually be ported to other systems", or did you mean to add RE4 to the list of games that will eventually be ported?

Either way, I agree with Hudson. That's not bad news since others who only have the other systems will get to enjoy those games. Why would you deprive others of gaming goodness? :D
Wow, I read my own quote and couldn't figure out what on earth it meant. :o

Here's what I meant to say:

RE4 is still exclusive.
The rest are not.
It's bad news for people that want the Gamecube to be more successful, DJ. Original, exclusive third-party titles are few and far between on the li'l cube, and losing them is never a good thing.
It's only bad news for GameCube/Nintendo fanboys.

The machine is already fairly successful, and is on solid enough ground to last out the generation. Not to mention getting the continued support of major third parties (contrary to a recent EGM report). Why deprive others who don't (and wont) own the machine of gaming pleasure?

If anything, it's good news.
You guys are missing the key words there "may eventually", which means that even if they do decide to port the games they will probably still be time exclusive.
Good point, Great Rumbler. These games may not be exclusive to Gamecube, but the lead platform will certainly be Gamecube. I mean, does anyone think of Splinter Cell as a PS2 or Gamecube game? As long as the lead time is sufficient and the games are big enough, their presence will be attached to Gamecube.

On the PN03 thing, it's intruiging. Only Shinji Mikami knows what the final vision is going to look like, but we can guess that he's aiming for fluidity within rigidity. Take that as you wish. If movement is truly fluid, I'll be interested in this game.

Matt IGN's impressions of Viewtiful Joe put it on my radar screen, but there still seems to be quite a few games above it on my purchasing list. E3 will definitely clarify my Q3-Q4 purchasing schedule.
#1.) All of Capcom's games are being designed for the Game Cube hardware. If they were to release any of the games on a different system, it would cost money and time.

#2.) Piano (PN0) 3's 'dancing' is pretty fucking awesome. When the game is finished, imagione seeing a completely fluid control scheme that allows for these dance moves to be chained together and deal massive hit combos or to flip by specific enemy fire.

#3.) Someone who believes that less exclusivity for any console in any way could be seen as good in any way, needs to be shot in the dick hole. Especially considering how this person may own Final Fantasy games on their Playstation.
