Since we've been begging Nintendo for so long to take a chance and release Fire Emblem in the states, you people sure as hell better buy it when it comes out on November 3rd! The future of the series' life in the U.S. depends on it!!

Don't make me come over there... and don't think I won't really do it! Ever seen Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back? It'll be just like the ending of that movie.

Suspect

Just six weeks to go!
The problem with the GBA is games. See, there are a ridiculous number of ones worth getting already out and huge numbers of very good looking ones upcoming...

Making a short list...

Sword of Mana
Fire Emblem
Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga
SMB3: Mario Advance 4
Blackthorne (the third Blizzard Classic Arcade title, it might be out already...)
Metroid Zero (or whatever its called)

etc, etc, etc...

But yes, Fire Emblem is right near the top of my list (with Sword of Mana). I'll probably get it... not right away, but eventually almost for sure.
Fire Emblem is definitely one of the GBA games I'm most looking forward to, along with FF Tactics and Sword of Mana.
FE should be at the top of all your lists since it's the one that is most in need of selling well.
Now, don't take this as me supporting the whole "like my small vote will make any difference" mindset, because I certainly don't have that mindset. However, when you ask a total of just 10 people (give or take), you might as well have not even bothered. Try going to a forum with more like 10,000 or so, like GameFAQs, and order THEM to buy.

They BETTER add a subtitle to this before they release it!

That's like saying "I'm not going to vote because one vote doesn't change anything". While the statement is true, if everyone thought like that it would make a huge difference!!
Right.

And I don't post at the gamefaqs boards.
Yeah, everyone counts... not as much as large numbers, but everyone counts.

Oh, and I just want Sword of Mana more... for the fact that it looks great and in the hope that the story is intact (somewhat forlorn hope, but hope...). I DO still have Advance Wars 2 unfinished...
Read the whole thing. I made it clear I wasn't supporting that argument. I was just saying asking ONLY a small number of people is meaningless. Bounce around message boards saying it or don't bother at all. It would be like a candidate for President only telling a school gym to vote for him/her.
Oh, you said you weren't, but the comment that followed clearly was supporting that position... and it just isn't right.

And anyway, how many people at a big forum like Gamefaqs (well, if you go to the general ones...) would really listen?
Who says I haven't gone to the ign boards to do the same thing??
I thought you didn't have Insider IGN...

And again ABF, look at the example. If a presidential candidate ONLY talks to a small group of people and never once addresses anyone else asking them to vote, that candidate WILL loose. That's why they address as many people as possible.

Okay, *clap*, conversation over.
Yeah, just because he posted it here doesn't mean he hasn't done the same elsewhere, right?

...

You know what they say, one man's waste is another man's...soap...You know what I mean, guys?!
Stay outa my garbage!

Anyway, that's a good point, but I somehow don't think he bothered doing that :D. If he did, no problem.

Anyway, they need to add that subtitle! What if it's succesful, and it's SO succesful they release the older games here? Then what? THEN WHAT? They'll have one that seems "naked" because it's like in the middle with no subtitle, and the rest will have them! That's not right for some reason!
Yeah... he might have posted it elsewhere too, good point... how would you know?

Yes, you need to spread a message if you want it to succeed. But what's wrong with telling small groups too? Of people you (kinda) know...

And there is nothing wrong with not having a subtitle.
It's the principle of the thing! Like, if Warcraft 1 didn't have "Orcs and Humans"! Plus, I'd have to call it Fire Emblem (No Subtitle) so people knew what one I was talking about, because Fire Emblem 1 wouldn't be accurate! That sounds stupid.
Yes, subtitles make game titles more interesting, and it'd be nice if they kept the Japnanese subtitle. But its just a subtitle! Its hardly a big deal... :)
I have an insider account.
I doubt adding a subtitle to the name would make the game sell better.
Oh for the love of...

You can't seriously be thinking I actually think the subtitle is a massively huge deal can you? What is WRONG with you people?

Yeesh, were not my examples, put in a very important light though in their very nature trivial, enough to make you laugh? I really want that subtitle, but I'm fully aware it's a minor issue. Is it not immediatly apparent that I'm making fun of myself?
I think a subtitle is imporant especially if Nintendo plans on releasing the first GBA FE game after this one. I don't want the US FF situation to happen all over again.
Yeah, that could get messy... especially if they ever release the old ones... it would be nice. But Nintendo doesn't seem to be thinking about any of that...
It all depends on how well this game sells.
Exactly. That whole Final Fantasy numbering thing was very messy and to this day when I talk about Final Fantasy 2 some people still think I'm talking about Final Fantasy 4. In fact, a VERY badly done review of Final Fantasy Origins prooves they never bothered beating FF2 because they say "and you'll meet Cecil and Kain and such as the adventure goes on". Though, to be honest I'm fully aware that in this case it wouldn't be nearly as confusing a mess and not really all that big a deal even if it was that big a mess.

I still love how Square thought naming FF4 "FF2" when it was released here (and FF6 "FF3" to boot) would actually make things EASIER for them :D.

Oh, on a totally unrelated note nobody asked for, I found out that the whole FF4 Easy Type thing that everyone knows about isn't totally accurate. According to a web site with all sorts of photos and such, it turns out Easy Type was released in Japan AFTER our version of the game was released. In other words, all the easiness and ability/item/scene removing and altering they did wasn't just porting over an already existing cheaped out version (with a horrible translation to boot), but in fact was ALL Square of America's doing. I do wonder why on Earth Square Japan thought it would be a good idea to rererelease our version in Japan (with the original text and a few more alterations, like more powerful weapons earlier in the game and a different end boss sprite) as some sort of easytype though. I guess even in Japan they wanted to expand their customer base to those who aren't exactly the most savvy at RPGs.
Oh come on, do you expect 99% of the gaming public in the year FF2 for SNES came out to understand if it'd been called "Final Fantasy 4"? Back then it made perfect sense...
Why wouldn't they have understood? If they were casual, they would just think it's the 4th in the series and they just couldn't ever find the first two (no confusion there, that's the truth). If they called to ask about the two they couldn't find, Square could just tell them they haven't been released in America yet. There's NOTHING to be confused about! No one would have ever viewed it as Square going "straight to 4", just like no one viewed Square as going "straight to 7". They would just think they somehow missed out on the previous ones, or (more likely) weren't really paying attention anyway and just would assume they exist since it's fairly obvious. No one was ever hanging on to every single action Square America did.

Don't be one of those people who say "I don't understand" where no understanding is even needed! I HATE that! "I tried finding it but the store was out" "But, I don't understand..." "WHAT'S TO UNDERSTAND??! FOR THE LOVE OF HINA, THE STORE WAS OUT! THAT'S IT! IT'S NOT A HARD CONCEPT!"

Really though, the only thing that would happen if they had called it 4 to start with is they would have found out just how many people were willing to get the previous two games so they'd know whether or not they should go ahead and release them. That's a bad thing... how?
People had less awareness of worldwide releases back then... yes, they should have called it 4, but given when it was released I can see why they did it. But its not okay anymore... a fact Nintendo seems to have missed. :(
