Blah blah GAMESPOT blah blah.

It's being ported to GC, XBox, and PC, with extras. The XBox and PS2 get extra multiplayer maps and character models, and the GC gets "enhanced" graphics that'll better suit the GC... whatever that means. I just played the PS2 version at a friend's house, and it was very fun. The Geo-Mod stuff isn't as gimmicky as it was in the first RF, and it's really fun to just blow crap up. I don't know about weapons or stuff, because it didn't matter. It was great fun to just shoot each other.

The biggest drawback was the six character max. That means max four humans and two bots. I really hope they're able to get past that, because it's really limiting; especially in comparison to something like TS2, what with like 12 people.

I've adjusted to the PS2 controller, and I think it's best for a shooter. I may buy a PlayCube adapter and a DS2 just for TS2 and Red Faction. Or hey, maybe just a PS2 so I could play GTA3.
Buy a PS2, they're well worth it *thumbs up*

Red Faction II was a very solid title, and the first of the 'Halo Clones' that I believe will be released over the coming years. Better than Halo? Not quite. A better single player game? Hell yes. A better deathmatch? For sure.

In fact, I have Unreal Championship, TimeSplitters 1/2 and Quake 3 Arena.. and I firmly believe that Red Faction II is the best deathmatch out of all of them. If only it was online :( I would love to see a third game go online, with a fully blown multiplayer mode.

The only thing in Red Faction II that is a drawback is the lack of co-op. In these relatively simple, yet non-stop action type games, NOTHING is better than a great co-op game (it's what made Halo so great). And with the Geo-Mod, the possibilities would have been endless.
I remember playing the Red Faction (I) demo on PC last year (I think) sometime... it was pretty good, and being able to blow holes in the walls is fun. :)

Oh, how is Red Faction II a Halo Clone? I'd think it'd be more like a sequel to Red Faction...
Red Faction 2...I might just have to pick that one up. The first one was pretty cool mainly becuase you could run around a blow huge holes in the wall.

It's a Halo clone because Halo was the first FPS game ever made, silly! Rolleyes
Wouldn't a Halo clone need vehicles?

But whatever. I dunno if I'd buy it, since the people I'll play against would rather play the PS2 version.
Yup. The first Red Faction game had vehicles, but it actually came out before Halo!
I haven't played it, but RF2's singleplayer has vehicles, but I've heard its mostly a rail-shooter in a vehicle.

But not the multiplayer. The multiplayer is like most GE clones, but with destroyable walls.
A couple of the vehicular segments are rail shooters (jet fighter, tank), but the Sub Marine and the Battle Armor (!!) are fully controlled by you.

Nothing in Halo can touch the Battle Armor :D

The original Red Faction was a Half-Life rip off, the sequal is a Halo rip-off.
My younger bro has RF2. He's played about once I think, its a little to hard for him. He said it was annoying hiding behind walls only to have them blasted away. I've never played but would like to.
Isn't Halo 2 supposed to have destroyable environments? If so, would that make it an RF clone, and thusly further confusing the web of clones?
Well, in essence it already is a bit of a Red Faction clone. Red Faction being the first to fully integrate vehicles into battle, successfully. Halo just took it to the next level..

Destuctable environments in Halo 2 will rock, though.
How is RF II a Halo rip-off??
Red Faction II was total garbage, it turned out!
